This was such an amazing sight, particularly since it was the imagining of a wealthy member of the Order of Mason brought to reality for vetting potential members to the order. One has to see it to believe it and imagine making one's way down...More

The initiation well is a must when visiting Quinta da Regaleira. The well itself is incredible its just a shame some people shout and sing at the top of their voices, while pushing past the line of people walking down. I'd advice going when the...More

Do read about the well or have a good guide who makes you feel like in a fairytale. It is worth walking down and looking at the wonderful surroundings.

Very cool structure. Not easily accessible with a stroller obviously so we folded up our umbrella stroller and placed it on the outside while we explored with our toddler.

One of the most photographed places of the Quinta da Regaleira. Its also very intriguing to walk down the steps to the well.

I could not really believe this part of the visit to Quinta da Regaleira. The feeling as one walks down into the well and then chooses the way out was really memorable. I had never experienced anything like it. Be sure to do this when...More

This is amazing. At the top of the garden you find this well. Look over the rim and gaze down to the bottom but be warned it is a long way down you can walk down to the base round the inner wall. Have fun!!!!

Don’t let this place slip by you when you come for the colorful castle! It was beautiful here and well worth the €6 entrance. The well is very famous, but there were many beautiful things to see!! Take your time exploring!

It surely depends on the season. We were there in the morning & it wasn’t crowded, at noon there were quite a lot of people. The positive thing is that the whole place is so big that it does not actually matter whether there... More
