This is a square where you can enter the Convent of Carmo which is actually the ruins of a church. Its now a museum. A grim reminder of the past natural disaster in 1755. There is a nice look out view near the santa justa lift...More

This open square is a good place to have a rest after walking the steep alleys of Bairro Alto. The ruins of Convento do Carmo is next to the square.

We came across this square quite a few times whilst exploring the lower Biarro Alto district especially as the nearby Carmo Archaeological Museum and the top deck of the Elevador de Santa Justa are both worth a visit from here. It has an impressive fountain...More

This is a pretty square in Chiado up on the hill over the lower Baixa neighborhood. You can get to it from the center of town by the Justa lift, or the elevators, or the escalators in the train station, or by just walking up...More

Beautiful and graceful square with the ancient convent here, an old fountain, cafes in the center and charming buildings all around. One of my favorites spots in Lisbon.
