My wife and I routinely do a food tour as soon as we can after our arrival when we visit a new city in Europe. We have found that a food tour an easy, enjoyable, and very affordable way of getting a basic “feel” for...More
We have been on food tours before, most recently Sevilla last year. This tour was quite pricey- especially since we needed to go on a Saturday-€110 per person, and instead of getting a lot of stops in restaurants, it was more kiosk stops and take...More
Me and my mother did the Lisbon Backstreets walk with Joao and a delightful bunch of people. We walked through an area that we would not have otherwise visited and learnt a lot about the quirky cultural and culinary history of that area and also...More
We enjoyed our half day food tour with Martim very much. The food was good, we went to some places we wouldn’t otherwise have known to try, and we learned some history along the way. Go hungry and don’t plan on a big meal for...More
We went on the tour with Joao and it was upbeat and wonderful from the introductions. The food and there was much food, as well as meeting the people in the restaurants and bakeries made for a most enjoyable day. I would highly recommend the...More
We 3 couples spent a fabulous evening with the delightful, intelligent, knowledgable and personable Martim. The tastings were wonderful and ranged from sweets to savory. Each tasting and location was touched with history and Portuguese culture.

We participated in the Lisbon Awakens tour led by Martim. Martim was an enthusiastic guide and introduced us to many wonderful foods and the people who make them! Food highlights included bacalhau and homemade chips at a tasca and a beef sandwich from a restaurant...More
I took the Lisbon Awakens: A Culinary Crossroads tour with Joao and it was incredible. A great mix of history and LOTS of eating. We stopped 10+ times throughout the day as we wondered the local streets. Our guide Joao was very knowledgeable about both...More
Devoted historian and foodie, Kika took us to her hood and its neighbour for a non-touristy look, taste and feel of what Lisbon does so well; superb food and wine. We met shopkeepers, cooks and makers, all devoted to their trade and we sampled some...More
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the
amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.

Hi Heather, except for the market visit they are not that different. They are both interesting it's just the order that changes slightly in the evening schedule. Thanks everyone for the helpful answers!
