What can I say what others have mot already said. It is an experience itself just being there.
Our family of 3 including a teenager from Boston found this place charming. A communal experience where you are seated with visitors and guests from Portugal and everywhere. All ages: old and young. Prices of food are decent. Beer and other alcoholic drinks are cheap in relation to Boston prices.
Do remember to find seating spots first then order your food. We arrived at the peak hour of 1pm, and clearly did mot find seating anywhere. But the trick is to focus on a specific table and currently seated guests, wait next to them (this is the uncomfortable part) until they leave. It helps asking politely if they will be leaving soonish.
Seats are packed close to each other.
You will get a chance to interact with people from all over the world.
Highly recommended experience.

I will give a general grade to this Point of Sale overall: exactly 8 if you are able to choose the right things.
I highly recommend it at pre or post lunch times given the amount of people visiting this Point of Sale or maybe in the evening where the situation seems to be more livable.
The Point of Sale has several stands offering just about everything: restaurant food, street food and desserts.
We ate a few things and except for the croquettes that were already ready only to heat instead of fresh we liked a bit everything.
In particular, the hamburger and ham stands.

Lisbon’s Time Out Market is a must-visit spot for foodies and those looking to experience the city’s vibrant culinary scene. The market offers a wide range of food stalls, featuring everything from traditional Portuguese dishes to innovative modern cuisine. I highly recommend trying the octopus—it’s cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. For a refreshing drink, don’t miss the ginja, a sweet cherry liqueur that’s a local favorite. And for dessert, be sure to indulge in a pastel de nata, the iconic Portuguese custard tart that’s crispy on the outside and creamy inside. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a fantastic place to explore, eat, and enjoy. Definitely a highlight of Lisbon!

Had a decent time while visiting the market. The actual market opens at 10 for which we showed up on time to but most businesses don’t open until 11:30/12. What food we did end up getting was about 3.5-4/5 but slightly expensive compared to prices we’ve seen in the rest of Lisbon. Maybe if we went later in the day we would have had a different experience but with only experiencing about 3 vendors out of the multitude that were there it was pretty disheartening since we didn’t have enough time in our schedule to go back.

This food court is always the first place tourists visit, and when you arrive in the evening, the seats in the spacious restaurant are completely taken. After searching for a seat for about 15 minutes, I stand behind a seat that looks like it's about to finish eating, and when it becomes available, I immediately secure it with my luggage. After securing a seat with my luggage, I go to the store I want to go to buy food and drinks. This time, I ordered Kamenote and Razor Clam at "AZUL", a seafood specialty store located at the back. Drinks are ordered at the drink counter in the center of the food court. I bought draft beer or wine by the glass and enjoyed it with my food. It's a very lively space, and you can purchase the food you want at a clear price, so even tourists can eat with peace of mind. If you are visiting with multiple people, it's best to split the burden of your luggage between the person waiting at the table and the person buying the food.

This market is very large and is located in Lisbon's city center. It's a foodie's paradise with a massive food court with stalls and also features fresh produce that's locally grown. We went there several times to buy the best pasties de nata (1.0Euro for one or 6.0 Euros for 6) in Lisbon at Manteigaria.

Place with dishes from renowned chefs, but not tasty dishes the two times we went, and prices equal to regular restaurants. The place is crowded, making it difficult to find a place to sit. We went a second time to try new dishes and again, disappointed. Restaurants we tried were Henrique Sa Pessoa, Marlene Vieira, Café São Bento, a pizza restaurant (which was good but nothing exceptional, with a higher price of 13-18 euros), a butter shop.
Wouldn't go again...

Definitely an experience to treat yourself to in Lisbon.
Firstly find a seating space to fit your party and protect those seats whilst you each return to order your earlier chosen dish from your earlier chosen food concession. All fast food, but traditional. Most outlets give you a timer / buzzer that will vibrate for you to return to collect your food.
Bars and drinks are relatively expensive. Main courses average 13 to 20 Euros.
Good dessert choices and the gelato concession was the busiest there.
Great to people watch and to just walk around even if you are not eating.

Just outside the stop of cais Sodré across the street there is this covered market that has two areas: a small one that constitutes the old market proper; a much larger one that houses numerous restaurants and food shops. In the center huge tables where you take place next to and in front of each other (festival style).
You choose the restaurant with the most congenial proposal, you pay and wait in place with a led that lights up when your dish is ready. At that point the dish is retrieved and consumed on these very long counters. Often special products, delicious dishes and high quality raw material. There is no question about that. Caught very tasty fish dishes.
Problems:
1. prices well above average considering that you serve yourself as if it were a self service and eat basically together with other people on the same counter.
2. Finding a place at canonical hours is practically a war. Super crowded with fierce tourists for the conquest of a place.
In short, experience to try, certainly avoiding peak times and knowing that you will eat well but paying handsomely and serving yourself. I suggest it more for a reinforced aperitif maybe before dinner or lunch.
