I thoroughly recommend these small group tours which are much less expensive than private tours and MUCH more civilised than big bus tours. So far I've done a couple of tours where the guide and the copassengers have been charming. As they were on this tour of Sintra and Cascais, which also included a stop at Cabo da Roca. Sintra town centre was charming, and the tour of the castle most interesting. Cascais was a bit too touristy for me, but the sea and beach are undoubtedly attractions. Choose your tour and go for it!

We had a 3 hours walking tour with Joanna during our second day in Lisbon. It was beyond our expectations.
Joanna was very knowledgeable and showed us the history of the city in a funny and interactive way. She learnt us how to walk the city like a local!
We strongly recommend to take that tour with Joanna your first or second day of your arrival in the city.

Trip with my daughters - it was absolutely amazing. We flew into Lisbon and stayed three days, then took a bus to Albufeira for three days. And another bus back to stay in a different part of Lisbon for a few days. (Train workers on strike, but the bus was terrific.)
Our first few days in Lisbon we did sightseeing and it was terrific. In the Algarve, we did a full-day guided tour (Algarve finest) and it was beautiful. The following day, we did Benagil Caves/Dolphin tour - this was so perfect and a small group. The caves were simply spectacular, and we were able to see a whole group of dolphins playing. Spending time on the beach and exploring Albufeira was also lovely.
On our return to Lisbon, we took a small group day trip from Lisbon to Sintra * Cascai, and our tour was fantastic.
The whole trip was perfect, and we all want to return to Portugal.

We had a wonderful time with Guilherme as our guide. His English was excellent and easy to understand. While we’re sure he had his “stock” stories and comments, they were delivered very conversationally and never came off as “canned”. He was responsive to questions and even diverting slightly from the planned tour in response to a specific interest/query. We would highly recommend this experience

We met at 9:30 a.m. and had a three-hour tour together, which really felt like 10 minutes. The navigator search contained all the spots that the people who came out asked to go, and it was much more convenient to reach the crossroads or the elevator. During the tour, there are extracts, wines, and fries, so the price is really good. Filipa, who was our Guide today, walks smoothly and fluently and explains in English. From time to time, there are jokes alongside them, and they lead small talks easily. It was a very relaxing and beautiful time. Strong Recommendation!

I got info on Filomena, a private tour provider, from Rick Steves book. I booked her sight unseen, via email. We did a 4 hr walking tour and it was great! She was born and raised in Lisbon, is a credentialed tour guide w strong references and v fine English speaking. She gave me options of what we could do on our tour, and the 2 of us had a delightful 4 hours together! Highly recommend her or her associates. This was well worth the approx $150 paid- she offered me insights and destinations Inwould have never known- plus she is a very smart and fun lady!

I took the tour to Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré and Óbidos. Small group in a car driven by the guide himself, which is very comfortable. The time was adequate in each place, except in Batalha, where we only had 20 minutes to visit the huge and beautiful church. It would have to be twice as long. The guide Bernardo was kind and provided the necessary information, but I felt a lack of passion in his work, a passion that I have seen in other guides, and which can make the tour unforgettable.

Our guide for the “Total Lisbon Experience” tour was Martin. This was our first tour in Lisbon and it included a little of everything: nice scenery, drinks, good food, historical background and a full dose of weather.
This tour with Martin was like experiencing Lisbon with an old friend we hadn’t seen for years and who now lives in Lisbon. We seem to have gone all over. We were up on hilltops and down at the river. We went across the river for a seafood lunch and returned to Lisbon to end the tour.
This was a great Introduction to Lisbon and we highly recommend it!

Joined the small group walking tour the first day upon arrival. Perfect way to orientate to Lisbon. The guide was awesome, groups were small so we were able to hear him. Lisbon is hilly, seems like always going up and our guide took small breaks to ensure the group stayed together. We had a couple tasty food stops along the way. Check in extremely well organized and easy to find. Highly recommend.

Hello I would like to do your tour ‘Sintra and Cascais Small-Group Day Trip from Lisbon’ on 11 November. Am I able to bring my luggage with me and leave the tour in Cascais, where I will be staying that night, rather than returning to Lisbon with the group?

We have two different tours:
One goes to Sintra (Pena Palace), Roca Cape and Cascais. One this tour, during the free time we give on the village (1h30) you can go to Quinta da Regaleira (even though we advise it could not be time enough).
And another tour wich goes to Sintra - Pena Palace and Quina da Regaleira .

I attended a walking tour at 5 pm in late September on cobblestones with my 88 year old husband. It was all uphill and very uneven pavement throughout Lisbon where we walked. If you are very fit and can navigate that then you may be fine.
