This is a much better way to cross the river than the automobile bridge down river. Great views of the University.

A 15 minute walk down the river from down town/lower town gives you a great view of the city built on a hill. You can really see the very steep steps, the botanical garden and in our case a superb sunset and thunderstorm in the...More

Ponte Pedro e Ines is a modern pedestrian bridge that provides a fabulous view of the old city. If you enjoy walking it's definitely a good activity while in Coimbra

It can be a long walk. But you will enjoy the views. Especially during the sunset. It can be gorgeous. This is my favourite place in Coimbra.

Not a 'destination' as such but a way to get a unique perspective on the city. If you walk then you've nothing to lose; if you're short of time you could miss it.

I wasn't very taken with the coloured glass panels oj the side of this bridge, and thought that something more fitting could have been designed to commemorate Pedro and Ines.

I would start off at the tourist information centre and across the street, you can run past all these great little handicraft stalls and coffee places, all along the river. Then it was up and over this bridge. On the other side, there is a...More
