About
Boat trips on the Mondego River. The only way to contemplate the beautiful landscape of Coimbra from the river Mondego, is on board the iconic boat "O Basófias". "O Basófias" is a maritime-tourist vessel with a capacity for up to 60 passengers, and provides a unique and exclusive experience to enjoy the city. On a 50 minutes boat trip, you can admire all the monuments overlooking the river, such as the University of Coimbra, the Old Cathedral, Almedina´s Tower, Santa Clara-a-Velha Monastery, as well as some medieval architecture, and a contemporary one, such as the Portugal´s Pavilion. If you come in an organized group, you can also have lunch or dinner on board. At the end of the meal, it is also possible to appreciate what best represents the city's culture - “Fado de Coimbra”.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

NIce relaxing boat tour up the river was a nice way to see the city from the water. Drifted lazily down the waterway was a nice way to enjoy an afternoon.

We had loads of fun with the guide and the TukTuk. We can highly recommend it! :) cheap and the easiest way to get a quick overview about Coimbra and the history of it.

In a city of narrow cobbled streets and steep hills this is by far the best way to travel round and see all the sites, described by a local who knows the history. Can get very hot so remember water and sun-cream. Price also includes the river boat cruise and some local discounts.

Great way to get around this city with its steep narrow lanes, as you can go places where bigger vehicles are unable to get access. The tuk tuk has seat belts and you get a very good view.

I had a fight with trypadvisor to make sure that this atraction is included...

I called and they pick me up on the hotel.
Coimbra is full of hills, so this is an excent way to visit it without making 'an olimpic games preparation'....
Plus, the driver knows it all, so he stops in all major places of interest...
My children just love it.

Not expensive and you get also a discount voucher for the boat tryp!
