Great beach with nice amenities. We went in high season in August and it wasn't too crowded with available sun loungers and umbrellas. Lovely sandy beach , but like most beaches in this area a bit windy and the water is cold ( or very...More

Kids really had fun going in the water here - although it is always cold water (70s). It is much more than just surf and sand.

Martinhal beach is located on the Algarve coastline . There are numerous resorts , restaurants & cafes . The beach is family friendly so it definitely worth a stopover. For breakfast or lunch O’Terraco is excellent.

Beautiful natural rugged beach. Great dunes. Two restaurants. We were there in June and it was not overly busy.

When I was there, I saw that even the resort has a rental shop on the beach, though I never saw someone surfing. There are a lot of other beaches nearby, I bet it is easier if you have a car.
