Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good beach but public .
A lot of girls topless on this beach would not recommend to bring children here .
A crowded place and the water is a no go if you want to relax . Water is around 17 degrees here .

It's a nice beach, in a bay with attractively-coloured crumbling cliffs on either side - but so are the 10 or more beaches on either side of this one !!
At the end of Jan we had the place to ourselves, apart from the people decorating the (currently closed) beach bar. We did see (from the headland) various surf schools there some days.
Probably great if you want to walk to the beach from your hotel/appt, but there are more obviously stunning beaches nearby.

12 Euros to hire an umbrella for the day! Then a very expensive restaurant on beach (Like 60 Euros plus for a plate of fish! I am not kidding!).When I got a beer at the bar my cup was half foam and about 100ml of beer, but the bar person refused to fill it up and said "that is how it is." We left and walked up the hill to a much nicer cafe. The sand was lovely and soft. The surf reports said there would be 5-7 foot waves at Mareta that day, but there was NOTHING! If you want to surf, go to Tonel.
Lovely and sheltered at Mareta, though and the umbrella hire man was really friendly and nice!

Just a perfect beach. The water colors will blow your mind, plus the relax since it is not crowded. The riffs add to the mixture... point to consider is the water temperature that is sooooo cold. But that aside, one of the best beaches in our world... and I have seen quite a few.

This is one of the best beaches I visited during my stay in Algarve. I don’t know why this beach isn’t a popular recommendation. I loved it !

One of the best boutique beaches in the Algarve. Mix of tourists and locals with snorkeling, surfing and sunbathing all popular activities. The summers can be quite hot as we visited in September when the weather was near perfect.

Visited here after a visit to Sagres and Capo São Vicente. Nice quiet beach nested at base of cliffs we could see from Sagres with a few beginner surfers even though it was Saturday in October. Steep stairs to go down. It was very windy(unsure if this was usual) so risk of intermittent sandblasting

It was a wild day in March when I visited, but all the more astonishing as a result. The wind and rain were intermittent and in moments the sun shone giving great photo opportunities

One of the beaches from the village of Sagres. Was not all that crowded and great for a swim. There are few restaurants and hotels nearby, so a good place to spend some time.
