Paulo is a very good guide and very knowledgeable. The van is charming and you get to have a very close up look at the wineyard and production. The tour itself is very intimate, where you don't feel like a part of another big tourist group. I cannot recommend this trip enough - thank you Paulo!

We booked a full day's tour with Paulo in his lovely vintage camperdown and we were so glad! Paulo clearly took great care to plan a special day for our family. In the morning we visited beautiful coves and enjoyed a swim before lunch at a popular peri-peri restaurant. This was followed by an afternoon at a fabulous vineyard, relaxing in a stunning infinity pool overlooking the beautiful scenery between wine tastings and tapas. We finished the day at yet another gorgeous spot, enjoying the incredible sunset and Paulo's carefully prepared picnic of local tapas. Paulo was simply brilliant company all day, our kids loved him (our daughter enjoyed chatting nonstop!).
Paulo, thank you for sharing your local history and special places. We loved every minute - we won't forget this truly special day! Best wishes from Newcastle upon Tyne!

This was a very unique tour that I would highly recommend. Paulo and his partner were excellent hosts - she the driver of the Happy Van and hostess for our picnic lunch and he the enthusiastic tour guide. Paulo tailored our tour to Loule as we had requested. He was very prompt in picking us up and gave us a very good history of the Algarve region as we drove to our first stop - the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição. It beautiful place where Paulo shared its rich history. Next - to the Market where he was very patient with us as we wanted to taste things, buy from the vendors and chat as well. He moved us along to a lovely outdoor picnic in a nearby park. Then on to a winery for our tasting. The winery was lovely and we made several purchases. Our day ended with a very fun ride home and very grateful for a special day with the people who made our van so happy!

We did the heritage tour with Paolo today and it was the highlight of our month long stay in Portugal. Visiting old towns, walking the back streets all with a knowledgeable and friendly guide was absolute bliss.
The van was great. But the driver was better. I can’t think of any way the trip could have been improved.
Cannot recommend this trip enough. If we had found this company earlier in our holiday we would have done every tour they offer.

Paulino arrived on time and myself and my wife had the best 1/2 day trip I have been on during any holiday.
We saw a different side of the Algarve and we learnt a lot about Portugal.
I also booked it for my wife as she loves VW campervans and that was a great plus to the trip.
Would book the sunset trip next time.

I reached out to Happy Van with an idea to surprise my daughter for her sixth birthday and Paulo (the owner) was so accommodating to make it happen. He proposed a detailed timeline for our trip with the best suggestions. We are fairly local (so when we saw the list of what he had proposed, we figured we would just be seeing a lot of the same, but our idea was for our daughter to go for a ride and have fun, so we just went with it) but we ended up seeing a lot of stuff we (local) didn’t even know about! We were impressed! And at night we went stargazing; the sky was completely breathtaking. Paulo was awesome and so patient. We loved everything from the ride, the lunch picnic, the trip. I seriously can’t rave and recommend Happy Van enough. My kid is asking if we can do this again (I mean she didn’t want to leave; I don’t blame her)..

A beautiful experience! This tour was definitely the highlight of my holiday! We embarked on this tour the day before our flight home. Despite being in Portugal for 5 days prior to the experience, it felt like we were seeing it through a different set of lenses. Paulo and Joao tailor the tour to the type of experience the passengers want to have, whether it’s a night time tour along the beach or a day time tour in a smaller neighbouring city.
This experience really opened up my eyes to the beauty of taking joy in the simple things of life. Months later and I still remember the tour like it was yesterday!! Paulo and Joao are such beautiful souls and it was a true pleasure having them guide us through the various sites, explaining the history and patiently answer all our questions.
If you are considering going on the Happy Van Tour do not hesitate to do so!!

This excursion was fantastic! felt more like friends going to the beach rather than a tour. Really made us feel relaxed serving us with wine and snacks throughout the evening, Was one of the most unique tours I have ever had.

Really fun time. We tried many different types of local food and wine, everything was great. We were completely stuffed at the end, it’s a ton of food. The walk around the city during the tour was a nice way to explore the city and learn about the culture. Our guide was excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend.

I don’t really ever review places as nothing ever really wows me…
We went on a team holiday to celebrate work success. Having a heavy heavy evening we all woke up very fragile. Arriving at the vineyard, the sun was shining down. Paulo and his wife were the most welcoming, sitting down before we start the tour, natural and peaceful.
Paulo showed us around, gave us some amazing insight over the wine, the plants and backstory around the grow. With a fantastic sense of humour.
Taking us back to the vineyard seating area, sat down and enjoyed some fantastic wine, while Gorete made the most simple yet enticegul Portuguese tapas.
With a great table of character, some fine wine that was paired so well with the food, Paulo then proceeded to excel our experience with a handful of songs, which was so beautiful and heartwarming.
Speaking over their journey, the vineyard and some great wine, it was a fantastic experience and our trips highlight! I cannot praise this more if I tried.
This would be a fantastic date spot, great for family, work and something different from Golf and the Albufiera strip!
Would reccomend 10/10. Hats off!
