As we walked up the old, cobbled street leading to Faro's majestic, 18th Century cathedral, we were first drawn to the storks surveying their territory from its the top of the bell tower. They are an unusual and dramatic feature of the Algarve and you...More

At first we were amazed that this was Faro's cathedral - it's kinda small when compared to cathedrals in Porto, Lisboa or Évora, but okay...

There is a small admission fee to see the interior of the Cathedral, the cloisters, climb the tower and visit a small museum. The Cathedral is very ornate and the views of the islands from the tower are beautiful.

There is a small admission charge but it's well worth it to see the Cathedral, small cloistered area and the tower. Views of the old city are excellent from the bell tower.

The architectural structures inside the building are really beautiful. The organ is worth a look as it seems to be adorned with oriental symbols. Climb the steps to look at the bells, time it right and you'll witness the bong.

Loved our time of prayerful reflection here. A good example of renaissance baroque art, good facilities with helpful staff. Recommended

Really interesting place, the cathedral 's square itself is somewhat quite romantic. The entry price is 3,5 euro encompassing the cathedral, the tower and the museum. Very nice cathedral with wonderful carvings. The museum is certainly not an absolute must. Do not miss the panorama...More

A small fee to get into this beautiful Cathedral; very much worth it. You could stay for hours just looking at all of the amazing carvings.

Sorry, there will be extra masses I am sure, but I don't know what they are. There are another couple of good churches, so I am sure you will find a Mass somewhere. The Tourist Information office may also be able to help... More
