The city of Evora is world heritage not only for its monuments. Their culture, their streets, whitewashed houses, the latticed balconies, their uneven sidewalks, its Gothic doors and windows, narrow and irregular streets of the Jewish quarter, its whiteness contrasting with the blue sky, its people , traditions and cuisine, among others make Evora is one of the best preserved world heritage cities. Stroll through its elegant medieval arcades and the unpretentious streets breathe history in Romans, Arabs and medieval manor and detail framed by the picturesque. Get regional crafts, indulge in the cuisine of the area and be sure to enjoy their famous wines. With a good hotel infrastructure, with many good restaurants, with warm people and beautiful monuments, Evora awaits your visit.

We came here for 2 nights after Lisbon and really liked exploring the area. With its many little streets it's easy to find little Hidden gems and cafes to go find and get to know better. We found at least two parks to chill in...More

Worth the effort to drive here or get transportation. Many sights to see in town. Lovely little shops and restaurants. Try to stay overnight when most of the day trippers are gone.

We stopped by here for maps and an orientation to the city. Staff were helpful. Worth a quick stop, and there is a view.

The entire historic center is pretty compact and on the level, so walking is not a problem. Typical small town feel, with shops, churches and squares. I enjoyed this town.

Great little town surrounded by walls with narrow streets. Worth a walk around. Full of shops and restaurants, plenty of Roman monuments. Worth a visit !

Walk around the medieval streets makes you go back to the past. It is my third time in this city and you always discover something new to see.

The historic centre, inside the walls, is very nice to walk around and explore. Main square is busy with sidewalk restaurants/bars.

Visiting Evora was part of a group tour through the country. We arrived late afternoon and stayed in the historic center and left by mid afternoon. We had a couple of opportunities to wander through the city streets/alleys/churches/cafes and enjoy the ambience of the city....More
