It is indeed a beautiful place, with all the windmills, so it is expected from this country. Well kept and calm. A bit expensive in my opinion. Good place for photos

One of the must do trips when visiting the Netherlands. A bus ride away from the Centraal Station takes you to the Zaansche Schans bus stop to enjoy a day at leisure to experience all that the Zaansche Schans has to offer. Five working windmills...More

This site is beautiful no matter what time of year you visit. One of the benefits of visiting in winter is that you avoid the crowds present the rest of the year. Beautiful!

After seeing pictures of windmills and on tv, it was so neat to finally see it in person. And have someone explain why they are used and how. One thing I found interesting is they charge to use the washroom. Would I recommend going? Yes.

Nice location to come and see the biggest Icon of the Netherland. Nice stroll along the different windmill, with different option of seeing it all, walking, biking or cruising along in a small boat.

I was happy we took a morning, and took the 391 bus from Centraal Station to Zaanse Schans. It was very cool to see the windmills working, and actually go inside one of them.

From Amsterdam Centraal to Zaandijk Zaanse Schans station, it's 17 minutes by train. Then it's a 15-minute walk from the train station to Zaanse Schans itself, with many signs along the way. Once you arrive, you can explore... More

There was an entrance fee for some of the windmills but there is one that you can go into for free as it’s a shop
