Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The railway station in Hoorn is served by Inter City trains from Amsterdam Centraal to Enkhuizen. There are also trains to Schipol Airport via Sloterdijk and to Amsterdam Centraal via Alkmaar and Haarlem. The bus station is next to the station as well along with a bike park so it is very useful for interchanges.

I visited on a Sunday and there was a Kiosk open for snacks and drinks and a Burger King.

The station has three platforms and there are lifts and a footbridge in order to get from a platform to the concourse. It was very clean and well presented.

In addition there is also the preserved railway where you can travel on steam trains from Hoorn to Medemblik. Their station is separate from the NS station and easily accessible.

Traveled thru this train station from the airport. The station is very simple and has a great flower shoppe in the station.

Not a criticism of the railway station at Hoorn per se but we were annoyed by the frustrating journey we took between Alkmaar and Hoorn. Firstly both stations no longer have a staffed ticked office. One automated ticket dispenser only on the pavement outside the station at Alkmaar. Made several fruitless attempt with our credit and debit cards but these were not recognised (possibly because they were not Dutch) - meanwhile an ( understandably) restless queue built up behind us. TBF coins could be used but we had no change. Went in search of a member of staff but no-one around apart from maintenance staff and cleaners. Without a ticket we couldn't pass the barriers into the station to find anyone who could help. We found an off duty train driver, who despite having a well-earned break, did all he could to help and eventually let us into the station saying we could pay on the train. Of course there was no-one on the train checking tickets. At Hoorn there were no staff anywhere to whom we could pay (no ticket office again!). We found a solitary train guard who couldn't help but let us out with her key (no ticket - no getting though those blasted barriers). Those who initiated this scheme of automated stations with barely any staff and no-one to help the travelling public must have thought they were so clever with their idea of a 'smart, e-station'. Why a process that was, hitherto, so simple, has to be made so complicated baffles me. But that seems the way with the relentless march of pointless and maddening technology.

It is a Station, not really much different than other stations even smaller but it has a big flowershop. The station is located next to the station of the steamtrain Hoorn- Medemblik.
