- Darragh D1 contributionWonderful Way to Get Caught Up in AmsterdamHighly recommended! — With barely any experience of escape rooms (I'd been to only one prior), I curiously and confidently stepped inside Sherlocked's "The Alchemist" close to midnight for a late night session. I was blown away by the production value, puzzles and involvement that went into building it. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but I definitely experienced a sense of wonder and delight as I worked with my team (my girlfriend and three other strangers) to figure out every piece of this puzzle. If you have a few hours in Amsterdam, consider booking a session. Additional bonus was the great location—an easy to find & beautiful old stocks building in the heart of the city.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 December 2023
- James PDubai, United Arab Emirates69 contributionsAmazing Fun ExperienceWe absolutely loved it. Really amazing location. The host was really welcoming and informative and gave us just enough help! Great thing to do in Amsterdam but be sure to book ahead. Five out of five!Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 December 2023
- KathrynManchester, United Kingdom24 contributionsGreat experience, such fun!We did the vault escape room as a group of 4 in December and had a really great time, the experience is so immersive and fun. None of us had done an escape room before so weren't sure what to expect; we found this challenging but doable. I really couldn't recommend Sherlocked more, the staff were amazing and we were laughing about it for days afterVisited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 January 2024
- 655gauravLondon, United Kingdom38 contributionsAmazing experience, A MUST DO!This is absolutely amazing, a masterpiece! What an amazing experience! Thoughtful, exciting, fun, and lot of Eureka moments. Nicely instructed too, well as much as needed. You have to escape on your own in 90 minutes. Whether you are a tourist in Amsterdam or want a corporate team outing, this should absolutely be on your list. 💯 stars, loved it.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 25 January 2024
- Benito Z1 contributionEscaping from a true adventure! Both escape rooms that I was able to enjoy were very nice. Starting off with the architect there were some nice good puzzles and the room did have some moments of surprises which were impressively done. Continuing our way later with The Vault this one was the one where the immersion was very high and well done. The way we were handled by the staff was very well done and big compliments! Made the whole experience that much more impressive. Overall where the puzzles doable and enjoyable. Sometimes here and there a pickup with locks which could also have been on our side but it didn't put the experience to shame. I would recommend it if you like good mystery/adventure rooms!Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 11 February 2024
- Voyage561843 contributionsMore than an Escape RoomA completely brilliant immersive experience-we started ‘playing’ The Vault days before we got to Amsterdam. The anticipation added to the experience and although the kids (aged 10/12) got a bit jittery in retrospect said it was one of the best things we had done. A very cool, very enjoyable escape room, and we weren’t even very efficient at getting out!!Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 17 February 2024
- Sajitha D2 contributionsBest escape room experienceI was so amazed by the experience. It was awesome to see how much effort was put into the design. Also, I like the small details. We had so much fun playing both the vault and the architect. The vault was especially adventurous and so cool. If you are looking for an adventurous experience with friends or colleagues, this is the best spot.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 26 February 2024
- braziac55 contributionsBrilliant fun, beautifully designedIncredible experience. The building is fantastic and lends itself perfectly to the theme, and the game (we did The Architect) is beautifully designed in terms of pace, aesthetic, entertainment and interactivity. Our games master was also a real credit to the company - a genuinely kind and welcoming person who made all the difference for us. 100% recommend to anyone, and will definitely visit again.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 11 April 2024
- Diana & RasmusCopenhagen, Denmark13 contributionsMust-play escape rooms in AmsterdamThe Alchemist is our best escape room experience so far! It has a stunning atmosphere, great decorations, unique and fun puzzles, and a quirky but beautiful story. If you try only one escape room in Amsterdam, this should be it. The Vault feels like a real break-in with tense action and fun acting, and with a very modern look. Remember to have your story straight before you enter. The Architect is a more traditional escape room, but definitely a beauty among its kind. The room has a great look, and the puzzles are well-thought out.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 April 2024
- Stephanie K1 contributionA level up for escape roomsWow. The Alchemist at Sherlocked is a level UP! The engineering is amazing, some creative surprises along the way were outstanding. The storytelling was awesome and the team were just great at fully immersing us in it. This is what all other escape rooms should aspire to. Great souvenirs too! Sherlocked, you really created some magic here ;)Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 August 2024

We did the Vault puzzle room.
Waisted a lot of time in the Q car park. The process going forward relied heavily on a text message that wasn’t received because of internet access whilst on the street. This in turn caused great confusion. The game show have started at the sherlocked building to avoid any time wasting.

Great twist on the regular escape room setting in an amazing location (lovely old building in Amsterdam) and some fun role-playing. The room has actually quite challanging clues and puzzles, I would recommend it to experienced escape room goers, not beginners. All is all great experince, the acting part is very fitting or a group of 4.

This experience was unbelievable. I came in to this having some experience with escape rooms and this was hands down the best one, and it was not even close. I'll do my best to avoid spoilers - but right from the beginning it was absolutely immersive. I was particularly blown away by how well every aspect of the experience was put together. There were parts of the 'Vault' experience that were so well devised that at points I had trouble distinguishing what was real and what was part of the experience. You cannot anticipate how polished this experience is, nor how much work has gone into each aspect of it. From the actors to the sophisticated artificial intelligence we had to hack to escape, this experience had me reeling for days afterward and puzzling over how they put it together! My team succeeded in completing every puzzle, but only because we worked together!

Was a brilliant and challenging experience. Such a good atmosphere as soon as you step foot in the door. Me and my brother had 20 seconds left on the architect but we managed to finish it. The guy who welcomed us and took us through was excellent made the whole theme and backstory really interesting and fun.

This is the best escape experience I have played so far. The location is stunning in the middle of the city centre in a historical building. The room is completely in style of the location and has many very creative and surprising details. I was in a complete rush playing the room with 4 others. It’s cool that everybody was able to contribute in their own way. Happy I finally got to play this room, can’t wait to also play the other one!

Such an amazing experience! Sherlocked have created the most incredible escape room, we did 'the vault' and it was great from the very start. They start the whole experience from the moment you book online making it super realistic. The design of the rooms and the actors take it to the next level creating a whole story. 100% recommend, we will be back to try the other room for sure!

Did the Architect level with 5 friends of whom 3 had never tried a live escape room before.
Everyone was amazed by the amount of detail and role playing that went into this.
Really fun and challenging puzzles that will require some great teamwork and will offer lots of laughs.
10/10 would do again!

I have played both “the edison room” in SF and the “treasure room” in Berlin and for me “The Architect” far surpasses both of those experiences. The game-master Sam was the best host i’ve ever met. The set and props were so lovely, they functioned as game clues and keys but never broke the suspension of disbelief of the story that was being told. This is by far the best experience room i have ever done. Cant wait to try the vault!

By far the most immersive escape experience I've had. We experienced a beautiful and coherent story in which all little details just worked. The physical design, the actors (who make you part of the story), the historic site. Just wonderful! And tense!

Did this in a group of 4. Atmospheric start and a good story we followed through a series of puzzles that challenged the entire group. The actors did an amazing job at selling their characters along the way. The special effects were great as well. The rush of victory had us laughing our way through the final part of the escape room!

Can it accommodate 7 adults and how much is
Written 17 June 2018
I thought it would be a blast for 7 people but the website says 6 is the maximum. You can probably split into two groups and perhaps to do two rooms at the same time. According to their website the prices for The Architect vary from €129 to €149 per game and the prices for The Vault vary from €139 to €159 (depending on what date and time you choose)the same time.
Written 17 June 2018
There are some parts of the puzzle which won’t be reachable, but if the person is in a group, there’s still a lot to do.
Written 15 October 2018
The timer in the escape room is set to 1 hour. However, prior to escaping the room, you're nicely received by the host, and after the wardobe and other belongings are sorted, you're smoothly being led into the mystery at hand. And after the escaping attempt is done, the staff takes a picture of your team, then you get to pick up your belongings at your own pace.
So all in all, you're in the building for at least 1.5 hours.

Yes, that's possible with the game 'The Architect', but a good comprehension of English is required

Bonjour, avec des ados de 17 et 15 ans quelle salle ou jeux me conseillez vous?
Nous partons du 8 au 18 juillet faut il réserver nos billets avant le départ?
Merci

Bonjour! First of all, it's important to realize that the games are in English, and not available in French. If you or your children don't understand and speak English, we do not recommend playing the game. If you do, then booking a ticket on our website is indeed required. Beaucoup de plaisir!

Hello,
I'm dying to go to Sherlocked, I will be in Amsterdam only Wed & Thursday May 10 & 11 and Friday during the day. Is this something I can pair up with some others because I will be visiting Amsterdam alone. I don't want to miss this experience. I am a mystery writer. Suggestion welcome!
Written 13 March 2017
Hi Sharmyn,
Great to see that you're so enthusiastic about Sherlocked! The Architect can be played by 2-6 persons and The Vault by 4-6 persons. You have to assemble your own team though, so if you could find at least 1 person you would be able to play The Architect :) Bookings can be made through our website. I'm happy to help if you have any further questions! Kind regards, Aimée
