Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After the announcement from the government that the term "staying at home" less strict, a lot of people going out looking for refreshment in the beautiful sunny day. This Phythonbrug area is a nice place to visit. And for a lot of Amsterdammer who can't wait to get in the water, this bridge is the best place to dive into the water. Not sure if it's legal but they were having fun and we enjoyed seeing it.

The Python Bridge is an interesting looking bridge with a wavy, undulating form that spans the canal between Sporenburg and Borneo Island. The strange shape is actually to allow taller ships to pass underneath.

Looks very pretty and fun to walk across a "step" bridge in famously flat Amsterdam, with great views over the canals.

This bridge was near my hotel so I walked over and gave it a look. It's different and pretty interesting. Something you don't see everyday.

We got the tram from outside Central Station and then had a short walk.
We went in the evening so there was no one around and it was very quiet. I highly recommend going at this time of the day.
The bridge is as amazing to look at, as it is to walk over.

There is also a supermarket very close called Jumbo which is well worth a visit.

We took a tram from Centraal Station out to visit this bridge, and then had a bit of a walk to get to it from the tram stop, but it was all worthwhile.
My wife and I love to visit things that are a bit different, unusual, and off the beaten track, and this visit was no exception!
The bridge is situated in a fairly quiet neighbourhood, in comparison to the hustle and bustle of central Amsterdam, and it was pleasant to get away from that for a time.
The bridge is officially known as High Bridge, but is also called Python Bridge (the name python coming from its striking wavy shape, like a moving python).
It spans the canal between Sporenburg and Borneo Island in the Eastern Docklands of Amsterdam.
The bridge was built in 2001, made of steel, is bright red in colour, spans 90 metres, and was designed by Adriaan Geuze. It is suitable for pedestrians and cyclists.
We walked down and over High Bridge to the other side and returned via the smaller 'Lage Brug', which is similar but without the high elevation, thus making it more suitable for cyclists.
This was a real enjoyable afternoon adventure.

We caught a tram out the area and walked to the bridge. It is a red bridge with a quirky and innovative design. It is small though. Being from Australia where we have some amazing bridges I guess am spoiled. We would recommend you didn’t waste your time to go all the way out there unless you are a structural engineer that has a full appreciation of bridges.

The bridge is being painted, it got a new brighter and redder paint. Also the rest of the bridge is getting maintenance. Note that you can't cross it till the end of July 2017.

This bridge connects Borneo-eiland on the east-side of the island to the more northern Panamakade. Pedestrians only. In summer it is used by children for swimming, though officially not allowed. This bridge and the surrounding area show the new Amsterdam, which still focusses on living on / immediately next to the water of the IJ.

This quirky, red steel bridge is one of a pair that links Borneo Island to Sporenburg Island in the Eastern Docklands area of Amsterdam. Whereas the lower bridge, at the opposite end of the harbour, is suitable for cyclists, prams and those with mobility difficulties, this high bridge has been designed to allow small boats to pass underneath and to take pedestrians to a height to allow them a spectacular view of the surrounding area. The Eastern Docklands Quarter is known for it's fun, but functional architecture. I loved the funky, modern day interpretation of the traditional canal houses, so familiar in the historic centre.

A little off the beaten track, but well worth a visit.
