Excellent setting to try great local brews under a windmill. The beer flight is lots of fun and reasonably priced. The smoked “raw” sausage is quite unique and delicious. Fun place to spend a few hours.
This was the highlight of me and my bro’s beer tasting in Amsterdam. First of all the setting is fantastic, next to the city’s largest remaining windmill. It’s a fairly large building, and there’s plenty of external seating when the weather is clement. Food and...More
It is always nice to have a recommendation and then you follow it through to find out it was time and money well spent - that was the case here.
A chance to have a taster of up to 8 different beers, a few bites...More
Superb brewery tap located in a windmill, Brouwerij't Ij is well worth a visit to. Whilst it is slightly off the centre, it is easily accessible by tram, and isn't that far at all. The beer is excellent, and really good value (especially by Amsterdam...More
Looking for something different and not so touristy, then this is the place to pop in. If you are not that thirsty, order a taster of some good beer. Be careful, this may make you thirsty for some more…
Even if you don´t recognize the numerous types of beer they sell, try the indicated one by the attendant. You´ll love it, I promise. In addition to drinks, they have many delicious snacks. Don´t miss it.
Went there with some pals; it's a 10-15 minute walk from the NDSM ferry wharf so a little off the beaten track but well worth the trip. The food is very good, we were looked after by the staff and the atmosphere and view was...More
This is a great place to taste all the beers and eat snacks. Skip the tour (tour is the wrong word - you don’t go anywhere) and just order a paddle of taster beers. Then, when you have decided on your favourite, order a fresh...More
Are bar staff abrasive? Yes. Are there limited beer tasting boards? Yes. Is seating an issue? Yes. HOWEVER!!! The snacks are deliciously Dutch. The atmosphere is friendly. The beer is worth the trouble.
Situated beneath a windmill this brewery has a pub on site serving a great selection of beers. Definitely recommend the tasting platter. Careful as its busy but family friendly. A short walk from the tram line 14, nearest stop maybe Zeebrugerdijk
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s
oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
