We walked in this area a bit on the morning before we headed back home and after visiting the Anne Frank house. It was nice and certainly a nicer part than the nearby red light district and pot houses. I can see why people would...More

The Jordaan is still very authentic area of Amsterdam. To walk through is a very pleasant experience, but by bike it is also lots of fun. Don't forget to visit one of the typical brown/Bruine Cafe's!

Interesting bit of Amsterdam to have a wander about. Has lots of good independent shops, good food and great bars. No single big attraction to the area, it's just really pleasant to mooch about and chill.

Always good for a day or evening scrawl. Nice places for lunch or dinner and lots of local bars for a drink. My favourite neighbourhood

Wonderful place to walk through and stop for a drink or snack. Much nicer and less seedy than the red light district.

Even if you don't intend to walk through here, you will most likely end up here anyway. Little streets lined up canals etc. Such a beautiful area to explore.

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
