The heart of Amsterdam which all shops, attractions, small streets, shows and restaurants. Nice to visit in the morning and at night. Take a free walking tour there.

There is lots to do in the DAM Square. You can shop, eat, or just chill out. It is the central hub, and a lot of attractions are within walking distance

Do not miss De Dam when in Amsterdam. With a Royal Palace, the Nieuwe Kerk, shopping area around, never a dull moment.

There is such a panorama of things to see and do immediately around this place, and it is centrally located to many landmarks within walking distance. If you are a photographer, you're going to have a shutter feast. There is a royal palace there, Madame...More

I know that it is a square and not an attraction, but apart from a monument the square is no big thing. The sorrounding buildings are beautiful but gives a very grey and boring atmosphere.

If you have been on city breaks before then this is a “square” like any other square...a monument, pigeons, a cathedral and lots of ships and tourists!

Damn square attracts many tourists. It has many good stores and high end brands. Damn square also has those street artists, music and live acts. It lits up in the evening even more and becomes more lively.

It seems an essential stop in Amsterdam, but I candidly did not find Dam Square to be very interesting - it is a large plaza full of tourists and pigeons and street performers along the lines of what you'd find in Times Square in NYC...More

Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the
Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its

view some of the city’s most picturesque canals,
historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples
of traditional local architecture – not to mention
Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist
temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some

No, I am not aware of any. If you type in Indonesian restaurants in Amsterdam, you can see if any come up.
