Hidden gem of the beaten track.

Lovely small scale museum with history and origins of the stuff chocoholics love.

The host/owner is knowledgable and is kind.
Litte tasting session at the end makes you want to buy a selecion at the museum to test your preferences.

We brought 11 college students to Amsterdam on a study abroad trip. Our first stop was here. We had a great tour! And of course, shopping for chocolate was fun! This is a great place to visit! We highly recommend it!

So enjoyed the enthusiasm and knowledge of the owner who gave us history and more of cacao....and couldn't resist going away with a couple of bars of very different dark chocolate.

This is really more of a glorified chocolate shop, where they give you a good 15 minutes talk on how to process cacao and make it into chocolate. It was interesting, and there is an amazing variety of chocolates from all over the world. Beware the ‘Best until’ dates, some of the bars I’ve purchased were somewhat beyond, and didn’t really taste good. The kids, however, liked the experience.

Dear Robicsek, thanks for your review. I hope that you liked the exposition on the world of cacao and chocolate. and the chocolate paintings. I am sorry to hear that you had a bar over the 'best until' date, I check it regularly, but apparently I overlooked it. When you'll visit Amsterdam again, I will give you a new one.
