nice little church, rebuilt after been burnt down

This church cannot stand in the shadow of the big church in the very center of Alkmaar, but it is a nice church to visit. The inside is very white, with very little stained glass windows (only part of the bigger windows is decorated). Interior decoration is all done very low key. The outside is simple, straight lines. Interesting is the white layering in the bricks of the building.

Peaceful church, beautiful in its simplicity

Nice church in center of Alkmaar, nothing spectacular but worthwhile visit because its simplicity makes it an attractive place to visit, sit down, and relax. When visiting Alkmaar certainly worth a small detour.

Home to me!

I love being in this church every Sunday. It is right at the end of the main street and it offers a quiet place among all the shoppers and tourists. The church was renovated not very long ago, so it looks beautiful. I recommend to visit the church at the Night of Light in September, which is at the same time as shopping night. Then the church is lit up by candles and there is piano music. It is a very beautiful night, the atmosphere is amazing!
