Not easy to access from beach side! When you walk to salt house you should walk in proper shoes. Not flip-flops! You can hurt your feet. Walking to reach the hill is not easy with flip-flops as well. We did so I know now ! View from the top in amazing. I'm not coming next time. You can disided for yourself.

All these reviews are about the beach and not the walks ! It is an ideal area for those who want the simple life when visiting based around the small former fishing village (although it has not actually got a harbour area). There is not a lot else besides walking along the splendid coast. It is known as a camping area but be aware that the farther you get out of Swansea the smaller the roads become and you need to very competent and patient if bring a caravan although it is a bus route. You might be better off staying nearer to Swansea and visiting by bus.The main camping site is along side the rocky beach which is not ideal for small children but the sandy area is farther along next to Horton which is a 15 minute walk along the beach.

Lovely beach .. Be sure to read all the stuff in signs by the loo .. Really interesting . Lovely views and even in this sunny October day it was so pleasant ! In warmer months it should be amazing ! Good gish and chips .. Not surprising they've been making fish and chips for 34 years wow ! Should have got it right by now and they did! Lovely clean oil , so product was very cleanly produced .. Very good and HUGE chips !

Well there isn't port. The village is quite nice and is surrounded by caravan parks. Seemed a bit desolate although The ship seemed very busy . I liked it there.. my husband didnt. thought it a bit run down. Some good coastal path walks and lovely sandy beach. nice rocks for kids to climb on. Not much to do other than walk or play on the beach. Definitely get tescos to deliver as there are only the caravan site shops selling newspapers and baked beans. Otherwise get fish and chips!

My dad wanted to go back to see this place from his childhood and he said nothing had changed in over 33yrs and he found smugglers cove which is an adventure just getting to it across the rock pools and up the mountain...bit of a challange finding our way back because you take the coastal path and after 20 mins you think you are going in the wrong direction but no its a long way back so take the chance..a few things to look out for on this path is a small wall and opeing gates then you know yr on the right track..you come out in overton and then have to walk back into port eynon via the main road so take care with kids...
