Port Eynon beach has to be one of my favourite places to visit during the spring and summer months. One of my earliest memories was when I was here with my family as a toddler in the late 1980s/early 1990s. I didn’t know where it was at the time, but ever since I found out I’ve made it a habit to visit when I can. The village is very pretty to say the least, and the shops and cafes are lovely too (I actually started collecting wind chimes as a teenager from visiting the gift shops here!) I also never knew that there are ruins nearby the beach until recent years, of an old salt house from medieval times. So each time I visit the beach nowadays I also go to see the ruins of the salt house too. This place definitely has a special feel for me.…

A large bay with sandy beach and a small town offering a few basic facilities. This is a good place to spend time on the beach with children. Also a good starting point for a walk to Rhossilli along the costal path if you're feeling really energetic.

After visiting Rhossili Beach and Weobley Castle we followed the A4118 to Port Eynon and parked in warm sunshine on Thursday 10th September. I was able to go for a short 10-15 minutes swim in the calm sea (17 deg C!) and had great time here.
