    Lake Zurich
Lake Zurich is a lake in Switzerland located at an altitude of 406m above sea level. A railway runs along both shores of the lake. I regularly stay at the stunningly beautiful Panorama Hotel overlooking the lake.

    Nice environment to chill-off
Lake Zurich while adding beauty to the city was having a fantastic environment for cooling off. Very relaxing space with a park in one bank with paved pathways providing the access to areas where one could engage in water sports like sailing or swimming. It was evident that this area was popular with sun bathers and picnickers as well. We too spend time relaxing under the shade of the trees on the bank, watching bird life and activities that were going on in water.

    Amazing
Zurich Lake is centrally located and gives an amazing view of the Alps ... The trip on a boat around the entire lake takes approximately an hour and you have an option to dine.. There are few stops along the way if you need to get down to explore Zurich ... Nice ride and a great view along with the weather makes it a must visit for families, children, couples or anyone who simply love picturesque view .. Go for it ...

    Beautiful pearl of Zurich
Lake Zurich is the wonderful lake .. last time 6 years ago we missed to visit it as we had less time, but this time it was a top priority. The lake is beautiful and offers many recreational facilities for holidaying or relaxing. The lake is surrounded by picturesque landscapes with the Swiss Alps visible at a distance. The shoreline is dotted with parks, beaches and promenades thereby making it popular for outdoor activities. We had taken 4 hours city tour in which one hour small cruise tour was included. Otherwise tours on the lake are nominally priced and allow visitors to explore the lake and its surroundings. We crossed the lake in a ferry when visiting the Felsenegg vantage point. This ride is a little over 10 minutes of which you can have free time to enjoy the views for about 8 minutes. We were fortunate to see the Alps from a distance. No visit to Zurich is complete without seeing Lake Zurich.

    Beautiful *****
A wonderful excursion tip, even if you're from Basel ;-) Super beautiful lake, a wonderful boat trip on Lake Zurich. Great service and good food on board. Just like the surrounding area, definitely worth a trip. Be careful with the prices, tourist prices are everywhere. A beautiful, clean city. There's still something going on there.

    Wonderful lake boat trip
There were different boat rides then we chose 1.5 hours short lake cruise that allowed the visitors to admire the lake and its surroundings.   The scenery of the lake was attractive and made us more comfortable  through lake breeze.   Affordable price. Relaxing.  Wonderful lake boat trip.  Hope can try a long lake cruise next time to explore more.

Stunning scenery and plenty of activities
Lake Zurich is a stunning lake with beautiful scenery. The surrounding area is picturesque with parks, beaches, and promenades. There are also plenty of activities to enjoy on the lake, such as boat tours, swimming, and walking/hiking around the lake. We enjoyed our boat tour that took in the sights of the city and the Alps. In the winter, the views are still beautiful and there are fewer crowds so it may be a good time to visit for people who prefer a quieter experience.

    Urban Lake
The lake defines Zurich and gives you your postcard. It is a lake that itself does not have much appeal of its own but that its outline makes it very relevant. Clean and small transforms more into an urban landscape than natural. It is worth touring in its surrounding villages, with fairs and squares. It has signs of the Grand Tour of Switzerland on its banks that deserve the photo, there is always some water jet nearby and the locals turn a lot to their things to enjoy it in various ways. It deserves a spin and several photos.

Free Line 3 Lake Zurich 90 min Cruise
We wanted to experience the boat trip on Lake Zurich. As we bought the Zurich (Travel) Card, we were able to benefit from the free of charge access to Line #3 Cruise lasting 90 minutes. It was a beautiful experience, there were very nice food and drink options on the board. We were stopping at different stops where people were leaving the boat or entering the boat. I tried one of their cocktails which was something like "Ice Tea with Prosecco" and it was very different and delicious. The service was attentive and helpful. I strongly recommend getting on that boat if you feel in the zone for a mini cruise on the lake.

When I was in Zurich and had a couple of hours to kill ahead of a business meeting I walked down to the Burkliplatz and took the Short Lake Cruise. This 1.5 hour duration cruise costs just CHF8.80 for an Adult and was a very pleasant trip that went down as far as Erlenbach on the NE shore of the Lake and then across to Thalwil on the SW shore of the lake. The boat makes 8 stops during the 1.5 hour trip and food and drinks can be purchased on the boat. It is certainly great value for money and a nice way to see the beautiful Lake Zurich (Zurichsee).

As we had the Swiss Travel Pass, a boat trip on Lake Zurich was included. We did the four hour trip, and stopped at Rapperswil where we spent some time before catching the boat back to the main pier.

It was pleasant enough, on a slightly cloudy day, but some of the other lakes in this beautiful country are probably even more scenic, such as Lake Lucerne.

Note that they provide catering on the boat (food and drink) and if you happen to be sitting in those sections of the boat when it is lunchtime then you will be asked to vacate your seat!

We took the Short Lake Cruise when we were in Zurich. It has 8 stops in total, we had the Swiss Travel Passes so it was free for us. We sat on the top floor (on the side with a table) & we ordered a couple of drinks.
The trip last approx 80 mins and the scenery was amazing... I loved the pretty Swiss Houses along the shore, the water was so clean & the lake breeze was so comfortable! Having said that:
Our only complaints were: people not following the queue as many of them just fought their ways on board and the staffs just allowed them jumped the queue to get on the boat. Also, we paid a lot more to get the 1st class Swiss Travel Passes, but unlike the boat tours in Interlaken, the upper floor here wasn't reserved for 1st class. There were just too many people squeezed between us to take pictures during the ride which wasn't nice.
Still recommended when you're in Zurich!

Lake Zurich is easy to reach from Zurich main station, it is a nice walk from the main train station to the north edge of the Lake. You can walk around the lake, take pictures by the lake, feed the ducks/swans or take a 2hr or 4hr cruise on the lake. I highly recommend all of these! I would recommend setting aside 4-5 hours. I took the 2hr cruise, and it the views of the mountains and buildings around the lake were stunning.

The first stop of our 6 country tour in the shadow of the Alps was the city of Zurich, and we walked around the lake identified with Zurich. We were a group of 28 people. The lake is clean. We were told that its water is drinkable. We also saw swimming in the lake in some places. It was November and the weather was very hot. There were many cafes and green areas. Nice and clean.. You can't see any garbage or leaves on the ground.. I recommend you to see it.

The boat trips on Lake Zurich are part of the public transportation system and so are inexpensive. For the money, you get a good view of the lake and shoreline. You can also get off and on as you wish at the various docking points. We did this and visited the Lindt chocolate factory. It is a pleasant, 5-10 min walk from the dock to the Lindt factory and you can choose to do a tour there ($), visit the store, and their cafe. It is a good activity to do on Sunday when the stores are all closed.

Lake Zurich, as the name suggests, the city of Zurich is on the shore of this quite large lake. Almost all major cities in Switzerland are on the shores of lakes. Of course it would not be complete if you have visited the city of Zurich without stopping at this lake.
We didn't take a boat on this lake, we just walked on the edge. Coincidentally when we came here it was cloudy and sometimes drizzling.
The shores of the lake are quite neat. We walked from oldtown along the banks of the Limmat river to this lake. Of course, we couldn't walk along the shore of this quite wide lake. We just walked around the lakeside park, the bridge, and the ferry port.
By the lake there are lots of ducks and geese, nice to see them. Overall quite satisfied walking around here.

Pretty, but too many people loitering around. Almost got my purse snatched as I sat there talking to a business friend. Beware - there are many gangs of Eastern folks lurking around Lake Zurich trying to fit in the crowd.

While in Zürich we took a short lake cruise, roundtrip in 90 mns from the Bürkliplatz. We already had a day ticket on the ZVV (public transport) and taking the cruise only cost us 4frs each or so as a supplement. To say that it was great value for money is an understatement. We had a light lunch - table service - and a couple of drinks. The entire experience was a lot of fun!
