Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you have the chance to stay in one of the hotels here in Old Town, please do so. It is such a historic and lovely place to explore. Just walk around the little cobblestoned streets and marvel at the historic buildings, churches, while also enjoying the hustle and bustle of "downtown". Don't also forget to head over the the lake to enjoy the scenery. There are lots of places to dine in or grab a drink or break in this area. Also, it is not a huge area that you will worry about getting lost. Very quaint and lovely area.

Of the most remarkable of the visit to the city for its identity and for what transmits with its streets, boutique shops, elegance, style.... to get lost and walk through the old town and not lose sight of the church, the riverside promenade and the bridges afterwards. Charming, pastry shops, bars. A Charm of Architecture, History and Shopping....for a few.

This is one of Zurich's' beautiful and touristic area in the city. The area is very lively with lots of restaurants, churches , shops etc. There are mainly winding and cobblestone roads in this area. You can get lost in for an entire evening just soaking up the vibes. You can sit at one of the many sidewalk cafes and have a drink or dine. Be sure to relax and enjoy the river and lower down on the southern en is Grossmunster church. Enjoy the medieval ambiance of this area and wear comfy shoes due to the many cobblestone roads

Even after the Corona pandemic, this is still Zurich's nightlife district. There are many bars and restaurants and life pulsates here in the evenings. Only the Christmas market has declined considerably since Corona. If you come during the day, you can shop in numerous small shops here.

Niederdorf is a nice area set in Zurich old town on the left bank of Limmat river.
It's an old part of town with cobbled winding streets offering many cafes, restaurants, galleries and shops. At the southern end of it is the imposing Grossmunster Cathedral. Great area to explore on foot for a couple of hours.

Lovely walk through the alleys. This place is on the right bank of Limmat river and during your walk through the shops, the view of the Limmat river opens up every now and then between the shops which I felt great. Did not buy anything from here, just plain and simple walk.

The niederdof, low village in english, was the least developed part of medieval city with its beatiful old houses, historical buildings and the river.

Niederdorf is a part of old town located on the east side of Limmat river. It has the old town charm with cobblestone street, several quaint shops and restaurants. Certainly worth visiting.

Went there twice in the last few months to meet with out of town friends. I was suprised at how lively the place was now. It certainly has gentrified over the years: now there is Desigual, Lulu Lemon, expensive watch stores, etc. Met my friends in 2 nice places: Santa Lucia (pizzeria/Italian food restaurant) & Cafe Schober (traditional Swiss cafe). Definitely would take out of town guests walking through there as it has such a medieval town feel with cobblestones & traditional Swiss houses. And of course the Grossmünster with Charlamagne (Karl der Grosse) sitting on the façade with his gleaming gold crown is a must see for tourists.
