Dear Traveler, I've been to Europe four times in the past 15 years, hit 85% of the countries, and the Mount Pilatus is still my favorite euro destination. If you ever frequent Switzerland, take a couple days in Lucerne and spend a full day on...More

We went up to Mt. Pilatus to stay the night in mid-July. Of the close to 24 hours we spent on the mountain, we got about 10 minutes of good view - which was amazing while it lasted. Otherwise, we were encircled by 360 degrees...More

My wife and I concerned alternative because the morning in Lucerne was cloudy. The gondola was disappearing into the cloud. We decided to go. What a great experience breaking above the clouds to see Mt Pilatus! Beautiful surroundings great adventure for a couple

It was overcast the day we arrived at the summit. But the ride up on the cog wheel train was amazing. The views spectacular, the train climbed slopes of 48 degrees. Well worth the visit despite the crowd cover.

Could easily be true- it will likely be snowing in March and limita the mobility of the cogwheel train because it runs on the ground as opposed to suspended up like the gondolas.
