We LOVED Assisi! Such a beautiful small town and the views from the fortress were stunning. It was cool to check out the inside but maybe not worth the 7 euro entrance fee but this seems to be a trend in Italy. If you're looking...More

We walked up here early in the day, the views are picture perfect. The castle is full of historical information and is interesting to explore.

Certainly worth the long climb to see both the castle and the fine views of Assisi. A great photo opportunity with most of the fort still intact on a very grand scale

From much of town and the surrounding countryside this ruined castle can be seen as it sat high above Assisi. It was a steady climb from the centre of town to the top. There was over one hundred metres of elevation gain to the Rocca...More

Assisi is riddled with gruelling up-hill walks and to get to Rocca Maggiore it's no different. But when you get the to the top the reward is worth it. Gorgeous panoramic views of the Umbrian region sprawling with towns, verdant hills under a placid sky....More
