The central town square in Siena is unique in that it is paved with red bricks and divided like a pie into 9 sections by stripes of travertine. It is slanted down to the centre like an amphitheater and folks lounge around on the paving...More

Lovely hilltop town. Easy walking to everything. Finicular was different and worth the ride. Loved the piazza Del Campo for great food and wine right in the middle of everything. Local artists, gelato, and upbeat atmosphere brought us back for a second long visit.

Always impressive to see. No other plaza like it. Nice to come during off season since it wasn’t so crazy. Definitely a worth while visit if your in the area.

This square used to be a market place as many other medieval squares around Europe. It slopes towards one side which is unusual. The famous palio takes place here twice a year.

Very picturesque piazza where they hold the Il Palio. There are tons of cafes to have a meal or a drink.

Siena was an interesting town because of the medieval influences and that fact it was run by businessmen rather than the Church, so buildings and statues are mostly not religious. First of all, I bought bus tickets (1.5 euro each), because the train station is...More

Hi, we had a rented vehicle while in Tuscany as it was easier to get around so I honestly don't know. I'm sorry!
