Piazza Del Duomo is on of the central squares in the historical town of San Gimignano. You naturally get there when wandering about in the town and there is great views of the many towers of the town.

In the shadow of the great tower, take 5 minutes on the cathedral steps to rest and cool, maybe grab a slice of pizza from the hole in the wall to the North

This Duomo was being renovated last time we were here and it has been resored to its former ancient beauty. Well worth a visit.

This city is historic, beautiful and picturesque. Unfortunately, that means others find it so too. If you can time your visit during a less crowded time, you'll enjoy it more. This isn't the most beautiful piazza and church I've seen, but still very interesting and...More

Don't take me wrong I really liked this small town, it's worth 2 or 3 hours. This piazza was really crowded when you visited it.

This whole village is incredible. The views from here across the Tuscan plains are spectacular. There are numerous alleyways where you can wander and get lost in time. The Piazza is open and uncluttered and the pace unhurried. Definitely worth a visit and take the...More

Make sure it is not a market day when you go. Filling the piazza with vendors selling junk takes away all the charm and turns it into a zoo.

A beautiful medieval town. You just need to wander around.. It was amazing, we sat on the church steps to eat and enjoy the people watching. As you climb up higher you get great views of the Tuscany landscape. We bought food from a street...More
