I went to Oktoberfest with Smart Trips and I thoroughly enjoyed my time. they had everything planned out perfectly from the beginning to the end. the bus ride was long but once we got to Munich we all forgot about it. We started the day with a nap which was very much needed but after that, we were shown where we could get dirndls with a discount which really helped us fit in. after dirndle shopping we headed back to our hostel to get ready for the day. our hostel was about a twenty minute walking distance from the festival which made it really convenient. The first day we went a bit later in the day and we were able to get into a tent. There we ordered a stein of beer and a meal. The meal in the tent was schnitzel and it was really good but the food in the tent was just very pricey. It is also important to keep in mind that in the tents it is cash only so you need to make sure to bring cash with you when you go. Then we eventually left the tent and found out that when you leave a tent you can really get back in so we decided to stay in the tent the whole day for the next day. The next day we woke up early and smart trips actually organized walking to the festival together so that we could all stand in line together. We were able to quickly get into the festival and secure a table at one of the most popular tents in the whole festival. From there we were able to hang out in the tent. In the tent we ran into other people that we met through the trip as well as people from back in Florence.we spent basically the whole day there and then we explored around the many rides at the festival. The this that i loved most about our experience with smart trips is that, they also had additional activities available, like a bike tour and a trip to Dachau concentration camp. I choose on the last day to partake in going to Dachau. It was very nice to be able to have the opportunity to learn about dachau and have the ability to go when i otherwise would not have been able to. it was overall an amazing trip and I had so much fun

Our groups only stay at top-rated hostels in the city center, which makes all the difference! Almost my entire study abroad program joined Smart Trip for a weekend in interlaken and it was absolutely amazing!!! Marie and Mac were our your guides and they were so great answering my million questions before taking off for the trip!
What I love about Smart Trip is it’s such a great way to meet other students and they take care of all of the logistics for me. They also give plenty of free time where you can still make the trip your own.
My friends and I went skiing in the alps (it was my first time, I recommend getting lessons first😅😂) and even tho I never made it down the mountain on skis the views were unreal!!
I do regret not going skydiving but that my own fault!
I love that they take you to destinations without having a long walking tour of the history of the place. I enjoy reading about the history on my own, but when I’m traveling I just want to walk around and explore.
Extremely budget friendly and perfect for students!! My only regret is that I didn’t go on more tours!
The staff really are there to to help you have a good time wherever your traveling or in Florence!

I went on the Oktoberfest short weekend trip with Smart Trip and had an amazing experience. Despite being concerned about only spending only one day at Oktoberfest, it ended up being the perfect amount of time. Maya was an amazing tour guide, and she was helpful with answering any questions and concerns I had (even before I went on the trip). Our tour guides took anyone who didn’t have Lederhosen and Drindls to a store which offered us a really good discount. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking to go to Oktoberfest!

I am here to express my disappointment on the recent tour I took to Interlaken & Lake Como this past weekend. The original itinerary I paid for and was given prior to the trip was a hostel in Interlaken. On short notice, the hostel was switched to a location thirty minutes from the city of Interlaken, making it inconvenient to complete activities and see the area as planned prior to the trip due to having to make additional travel arrangements by bus/train to the area. The bus ride from florence to Switzerland went from an 8 hour ride to a 12 hour ride with a bus driver I felt was very unsafe with as it was not a comfortable ride and there were many issues that occurred on the road including getting pulled over, reversing on the highway, swerving out of lanes, and turning around on a mountain. We all felt sick to our stomachs from this ride. Since we were expected to arrive in Switzerland around 5am my friends and I booked an activity for 9am that day.Due to the extended period of travel time, we didn’t arrive in Switzerland till 9am and almost missed our activity. On Sunday heading to Lake Como we were stuck in traffic causing us to lose time to enjoy the area. On the original itinerary received upon payment, it started we would arrive back in florence around 11pm. This was not the case as when we arrived to the trip we were told we were coming back at 9pm allowing us to only have 3 hours in Lake Como.
We want to continue to do tours while we are here for the rest of the summer and i’ve already booked several upcoming trips with this company but I am extremely disappointed in the experience i had this weekend. If you are looking to plan weekend trips, I strongly recommend do not booking with smart trips.

This review is for Florence to Paris. I would not recommend this tour. Cost approximately 350 euros for a 12 hour and 30 bus ride with no bathroom. While in Paris you stay at a Generator Hostel which is just ok and kind of shabby. Tour of Eiffel Tower is not included. The Seine River cruise is not included. The Louvre museum is also not included in price. Also shockingly the travel from hostel to river cruise is also not included. The guide is rude and this trip stinks. You are much better off taking plane roughly 150 euro round trip and splitting AirBnB with friends this is approximately 50 euro a night. Also the literature provided is ambiguous and makes it appear that tours are included in price. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND..

To address your concerns, we would like to make it clear that the price of the tour does not include certain elements such as the Seine River Cruise, the Eiffel Tower, or the Louvre museum, which is also stated clearly on the website. Furthermore, our website clearly outlines that the transportation for this trip is via bus and that the bus ride would be an overnight journey, but we are sorry if you felt mislead by the duration of this trip. Regarding the hostel, we have worked with this property for many years and have never received negative feedback, so we are quite shocked to read that you were not satisfied with the property. Your Tour Leader this weekend was one of our most senior and positively rated staff members. She has always received glowing reviews from our students and our providers, however we apologize if you did not share this sentiment. This trip was amazing and well organized! It was my friends and I’s first time using SmartTrip and we loved every second of it! Everyday had an itinerary with optional tours or free time to explore the Amalfi coast with all the cities we went to. Our tour guides Lizzie, Iza, and Minh were very helpful and gave great recommendations to restaurants, bars, shops, etc. It was a great time overall and I’m excited to plan the next trip!

I joined the Amalfi Coast weekend trip with Smart Trip and it was the best decision I could have taken. Staff were awesome and helpful, they were always available for me 24h a day. They made sure everything was on time and moving smoothly and they made personal connections with me and my friends group. An awesome weekend experience, I highly recommend Smart Trip to everyone!

Amazing company! During my four months abroad in Florence, I used Smart Trips on five separate occasions! Each one of my experiences with this company was better then the last. They make traveling so convenient and simple especially while traveling with a large group of people! They have a huge selection of weekend trips, day trips. as well as a super friendly, and helpful staff which makes traveling with them that much better. I would highly recommend using this company as much as you can! Thank you smart trips!!

During my semester abroad I went on 4 different Smart Trip tours. My friends and I had the best time and the guides made the whole experience super relaxed and enjoyable! Traveling with Smart Trip definitely helped in making the trip less stressful as we traveled with a large group. Definitely recommend for an amazing experience along with a friendly and helpful staff!

This trip was absolutely amazing and the tour guides were so kind and welcoming! Iza Leslie, Lizzie Hopkins, Minh Vu, and Sophie Montero are all so impressive with their knowledge and there community that they brought. I always felt comfortable to go talk to them but also felt so prepared on every part of this trip. They communicated with us about everything and felt comfortable and confident throughout the weekend even though I haven’t been there I was able to relax and enjoy every moment! So thankful for this experience and the tour guides!

I am considering the trip from florence to budapest-vienna-salzburg. Can you tell me about the accommodations? are the hotels centrally located and within walking distance of sights? There will be 5 of us traveling together. How are rooms assigned? Can we all stay in one room?

Thanks for your interest in Smart Trip! The hostels we stay at in Budapest and Vienna are generally central located or well connected with public transportation to the city centers. However, again, most of the time we have very central located accommodations.
With regards to the next question: if it's 5 people traveling we can give you a good discount, with a special promo code. Rooms are assigned in this way: prior the trip departure day you guys will be asked with whom you'd like to stay, and we'll do our best to welcome your request, always according - of course - to the kind of rooms we'll have, to the weekend you travel, ecc. But generally we are able to put friends with friends, don't worry :)

At the Cinque Terre there is enough walking and some hiking; consider that the small 5 villages are very close to the sea and the small halleys are donw and uphill.
