Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are a Ferrari fan then it doesn't get better than this. Worth every penny! Treated husband to this experience and he loved it. His tour guide was great. Included (and thrilled) our teenage son so nicely in the activity (bonus). Would highly recommend this.

We thought long and hard on whether to book the longer 72 km trip and decided to go with it. My older son and I had driven a Ferrari in Maranella in May. It was great, but the roads there only allow for short bursts of speed and the scenery is inner city and not very awe inspiring.
In this case, the drive lasted about 3 hours and was a nice opportunity to learn the car, both in the automatic setting or paddle shifters on either side of the steering wheel. We were the last tour of the year in the California model. The owner, was going the next day to trade in his car and get a new model that replaced the California, a Panafererra. It will take a month to fill the order and their will be some lucky drivers who go in mid February 2020, when he begins tours with the new car.
I had the opportunity to take my son, who was still 17, but turned 18 on the next day after driving the dream car. In Italy, a drivers license is not issued until the 18th birthday. You are unable to drive a super sports car until the driver has at least 1 year of experience behind the wheel. In the US, you are unable to get an international drivers license until after the driver turns 18. This left us thinking we would need to cancel the tour. The kind and helpful lady with the tour told us how we could get an international driving permit by going to a website and ordering it online for $24. It required 2 passport photographs and a trip to a FedEx store to get the license printed on the proper card stock paper and bound, but it was well
worth the few extra steps required to make the day a reality.
You do not know if the tour is on until the day of the tour, contingent on weather conditions. If it rains they cancel the tour or if the roads are wet or have an traces of ice. We chose a 10 am to 1 pm experience and did have some moisture on the roads, but it wasn’t a problem. The skies were clear and it was cold on the morning tour. We were late getting lost on a few turns coming in to the City center, but the owner was understanding.
He provided some quick lessons on the car functions and my son started driving. The owner wanted to make sure my son was a safe driver and wanted to experience how he handled the roads as we exited the City limits and headed towards Chianti.
Once we were outside the City, the hills, cedars, olive groves and vineyard’s dotted the landscape. It was a much more beautiful driving experience than what we had done in Maranella in May 2019.
After about 15 to 20 minutes behind the wheel, he allowed my son to push the accelerator to the floor in an open stretch. It was amazing and he could not get over the power of the car or going zero to 60 in a little over 3 seconds. We are unsure how fast we were going before being told to brake, but it was enough to get the blood pumping and my son wanted more. The owner seemed to appreciate the respect for his $200,000+ car and to carefully observe his instruction. He said he will stop a tour of someone doesn’t listen to his instructions and will almost immediately put the car accelerator to the floor a few minutes after beginning the tour. This seems to be common sense, but he said you would be surprised and because the client is paying a premium price, they think they can do whatever they want in their time block. Big mistake.
My son after gaining some confidence in himself and the owner was allied to use the paddle shifters on the steering wheel and liked to be able to control how quickly he changed gears and was able to shift down. It was nice to have the time in the extended tour to drive the car over time to test the 2 driving modes and develop an opinion of choice.
We stopped at a very wine store in Grevi in Chianti and all had coffee, restroom break and time to stretch out legs. We returned to the car and took a different route back to the City and had the chance to open up the car several more times in between slowing down and going through small towns and speed traps that he warned us not to go above 50km or a 300 Euro speeding ticket would show up in the mail and become another expense later to you if you were driving the car and the video to prove it.
We stopped at the U.S. WW II memorial outside Florence and he gave us both the opportunity to walk in to the well maintained park and observe the sacrifice so many Americans made during the war who a buried on the rolling hills.
He allowed me to get behind the wheel for the short trip back to the city center, because he did not want me to feel left out of the experience. It was amazing to open it up in one of the mountain tunnels and hear the real sound of the car reverberate off the walls and ceilings.
I think the tour hit all the buttons for a well maintained vehicle, Formula 3 retired racing driver as your coach and the beautiful rolling hills of Chianti in Tuscany.
If you can spring for the longer tour and extend your time to really experience the car in varied modes and take in the beauty of the area, it is well worth the extra expense.
Also, if you want a 360 video of the experience to see your face and turn it around to see the roadway coming at you, it must be booked online with Viator or it will be too late on the day you arrive to drive. You will be so glad if you do have this to remember the drive and those times when you pushed the car to the floor and felt the hair on the back of your neck stand up. It is amazing to relive this over and over back home in your living room big screen TV. I wish we had booked it, like we did on our earlier tour in May, but the memories will need to live in our minds and in the few pictures we took in the beginning and end of the tour.
I would love to drive the new car in February and would encourage those thinking about pressing the button to book the tour and have the rare chance at an amazing tour and brand new Ferrari to boot!

We purchased this as a Christmas gift for our teens (ages 19, 17 and 14). The driver, Umberto, was so great with the kids. He knew they wanted to drive fast and took them in a tunnel so they could go fast and hear the engine roaring. They absolutely loved the experience. Umberto was awesome. It's tough to find a Christmas gift that actually makes teenagers excited, but this did the trick! I highly recommend it. Thanks Umberto!

A fun hour behind the wheel of a Ferrari in Florence. It was over so quickly, but fun while it lasted. The chaperone was knowledgeable and let me hit the gas when it was safe. Made our trip to Florence that much more special.

It exceeded my expectations by so many miles! The car is in mint condition, the guide was very patient and professional throughout the whole drive, the road and sceneries where breathtaking. We ended at Villa San Michele which was sooo pretty and fancy. Honestly, this was worth every dollar. Something to check off my bucket list. Even though my wife did not want to drive, she also agrees that this was a very cool thing to do.

Not quite a surprise gift for my friend but she did say it was one of the best gifts ever, as she learned to use the paddle shifters and accelerate a 550 hp Ferrari around the hills of Florence Italy. We took the 90 minute aperitif ride, which I highly recommend adn the trip through the hills even with lots of traffic was amazing. The 30 minutes out were the great lessons and learning and then the stop for a small rest at what must have been a hotel only seen in Boind movies, was superb. On the ride back, my friend got the hang as she pushed us back in the two little rear seats, where our heads were higher than the windshield but still one of the most fab experiences have had. If you are traveling to Florence, add this as must on your to-do list. You will not be sorry.

From what I can tell...how fast a costumer can/is allowed to go depends on the traffic at the time of the test drive, since the test drive is throughout Florence itself.
If I were to schedule a test drive at the earliest time possible, would traffic at that time still prevent me from being able to really "scoot it"? Haha I'm not necessarily looking to drive like "Fast and Furious" (unless allowed :) , but I don't want to pay to test drive a Ferrari if there's no guarantee that I can't experience (to some degree) its capabilities.
Also, would I be allowed to record with my own GoPro and equipment?
Thanks!

Dear Parker H,
thank you for you questions.
Please see copy of the FAQ section of our website below:
8. What is the speed limit on Italian roads?
The various speed limits of the different types of roads are indicated on speed signs as specified by the Italian national Highway Code.
13. Do the test drives take place on a racetrack or on normal roads?
The test drives take place on the roads of the hills above Florence. Test drives do NOT take place EITHER on a racetrack OR on the motorway/highway. Test drives are not a race, but rather an educational skill-learning experience and therefore all speed limits must be respected.
23. Can I film my Ferrari experience with my GoPro video camera?
No. Should you like to have a video of your experience, we have our own GoPro video camera attached to the car. The cost is € 20,00. The footage of your experience is saved on a 4GB or 8GB Micro SD.
The best time is usually lunchtime (12:30pm-3:30pm).
Best regards
