Beautiful setting, friendly staff and delicious food. Menu changes often but the pasta with the "taste of the sea" is highly recommended. The chef had a light hand with the "sea" seasoning, which kept the flavor light and not overbearing. The Sangiovese house red is very good. We also picked up a couple of pre-made sandwiches for our vineyard tours the next day.

The cafe is stylish with an inventive menu. Staff are friendly with expertise. A real chill out place where all vegan needs are met. I ate the vegan omelette where flavour just oozed! It's such a treat to eat here.

This is a wonderful and welcoming eatery. Both the waiter-Matteo-and the chef-Cristian-are very friendly! They are here to see that you have a superb experience. We went mid afternoon-around 1430; the place was fairly empty. The menu is uncomplicated, handwritten, with the specials of the day. While Matteo's English is not perfect, we were able to communicate and obtain an explanation of the choices. Because everything is prepared from scratch, it takes a short while. The back room has a number of books to look through while waiting. The pasta was delicious! Very fresh, with tomatoes, zucchini and eggplant and a side of tempura zucchini! One of our group has a gluten allergy:Matteo not only advised on menu choices, but then appeared with GF bread from the bakery across the street-wonderful customer service. The rest of us enjoyed the fresh bread with olio. One of our group had the 'omelette' - it was superb! (Did I mention that is is a vegan restaurant?). We asked Cristain about the preparation-made using chickpea flour, almond milk and vegetable broth. So often vegan food tries to be just like non-vegan food and fails. This was even better than a real 'omelette'-all of the people in our group tried it and agreed! The chocolate cake for dessert was a bit dry, but extremely flavorful! Espresso, as in many places in Florence, was very good. The only downside is that the chairs have seen better days and are quite uncomfortable. As we were the only ones in the backroom, we tried out most of them and found the comfy ones. Even non-vegans will find Silvano a great place for lunch!

What I've loved about the restaurant is the atmosphere and overall of course the special attention to each single ingredient in the kitchen. Super selected items and cooked with love and joy! These guys are awesome that's why the could create such a true green oasis in the heart of Florence! For me the only true vegan in town.

Very nice homemade vegan food and desserts. We had fresh pasta, juice, cake and coffee and everything was fantastic. The food is really fresh and really well cooked. I highly recommend this place in Florence.
