Beautiful situated against the wall of a mountain. How beautiful it must be with snow! Peaceful place with a lot of history.

The location is beautiful and the whole complex is nicely located on the side of a hill. We would have loved to hear and see more about the complex via a tour, it would have made the experience even better.

The setting is magical and the small cell that St Francis stayed in was amazing; worth the short trip out of Cortona

Well worth a visit. A working monastery in a very beautiful setting. Peaceful, spiritual place that just exudes history.

We walked to Saint Margherita Cathedral a very steep climb and then onwards to Eremo Le Celle another taxing walk Le Celle is well worth the long walk a very spiritual quiet place to ponder the wonders of previous centuries

On our last day in Tuscany, we chose to visit LeCelle. What a moving experience it was! The chapel, the grounds, the bridge, St. Francis' cell -- all left an indelible impression on us. Don't miss it - the perfect contrast to bustling Cortona.

I'm not a religious person, but this is a place to visit. Impressive to see the small cell used by Franciscus. It is also a nice walk from Cortona (4.5km) with some beautiful views of the valley. Don't take the Sp34 main road, but a...More

Le Celle is a monastery started by St Francis d'Assisi in 13th century. It's a short drive from the main town of Cortona so well worth a detour
