One of the few historical things to see. Ancient ruins have been slightly modified to be used occasionally for current productions. Plywood ramps and walkways distort the historical value. Preservation is at a minimum. Guided recordings give a little explanation of the history. The location...More

A beautiful old Roman amphitheater with spectacular views of Sicily and the Mediterranean Sea. Quite a high climb but worth it for the spectacular views.

Now crowded and in very poor condition. Ticketing and information is poor. However on a perfect day the photo from the highest level can be rewarding.

We approached the amphitheatre from the steps down from the church of Madonna della Rocca and the view is spectacular. Any comments about the entrance cost (10 euros) being too high just beggar belief. Not only is Taormina an amazing place but the amphitheatre is...More

Taormina is a beautiful town in its own right. However, the reason that it became a tourist destination is because of the theatre. The theatre is very impressive and just has to be seen and enjoyed. The views are impressive to say the least. It...More

We did other things until 5:30pm, when we entered. It closes at 7. We had it nearly to ourselves at the end. Were the last ones out. It’s cooler and the light is superb.
