The church with its small but beautiful façade has in its interior the fantastic painting of Caravaggio on the burial of the Saint

This church is pretty but the big attraction is the painting by Caravaggio of the Burial of St. Lucie. Definitively worth the cost of the ticket and the time to walk around inside.

Very unique mix of Greek columns from the 5th century BC and 18th century facade. A very beautiful church that captures many different periods. A church within a temple!

The painting which is the main attraction here is so poorly accessed and lit that it cannot really be appreciated.

An amazing painting. You could spend ages just looking at it. So nice to see paintings in situ instead of in museums.

This church is a fine museum for a fantastic, original, and well-preserved Caravaggio. The only drawback are the NO PHOTO and SILENCE monitors, who enforce those prohibitions by shouting into microphones.

We came to the Archaeological Park, which includes the ear of Dionysius, after seeing many ancient Greek ruins (like 1600 BC). These ruins are more recent, 400 BC, and more intact. The ear of Dionysius is a wonderful cave that has great stories connected with...More

I don't think so. The church is basically being used as a museum. You can go to mass right next door at the Cathedral.

I was just in Syracuse, and this church is open from 11-4, Tuesday - Sunday. I know this because I got there at 4 on Sunday ... just as they were closing the doors!
