Experiencing the real Sicilian life even for just a few hours was something really special. We were really amazed by the people and their brio. Shopping fresh fruit and walnuts was the best part.

Not as big as the market in Catania but great street theatre. Some supremacy fish and fruit stalls and you see local life as it is.

Could be because we arrived late! Only a few stalls were open selling some clothes, bags, souvenirs. Next time will try to visit in the morning!

We stopped in Ortigia for an afternoon as part of a tour group. We had some time to meander and I had a great time interacting with the locals. There’s a lot of pride the Sicilians have around their food. Lots to see and buy....More

Whilst having a stroll around, my wife and I came across the Ortigia market, which can be found right next to the Temple of Apollo. We enjoy coming across places like this as it can be a cultural lesson. The market offers a wide assortment...More
