One of the most wonderful experiences of my life. The Palace itself is tremendously imposing and worth a long visit in its own right; but the Capella Palatina is an experience that no visitor to Palermo should miss. Built for the great Norman king, Roger...More

You have to visit the chapel with the golden mosaics. The art is unique in the world! The palace had a lot of interesting places to visit (gardens, exhibition etc)

The highlight of the visit was the Capella Palatina which I preferred to Monreale as you are much closer to the mosaics. We got there early to avoid queues and coach parties. Handing back the audio guides was a nightmare! It took a long time...More

The rest was a disappointment really. But not the chapel. That was awesome. Spectacular. That alone was worth the money I'd say a definite do.

The grounds, palantine chapel and architecture are impressive examples of Norman design. Certain rooms are only open when the politicians are not in session.

The beautiful chapel covered with mosaics and other decorations on every surface will be a memory of a lifetime. The Royal apartments are also interesting particularly Rogers mosaic room complete with mosaic peacocks and leopards.

Spent an afternoon here as plenty to see. Stunning buildings, with fascinating history and detail. Over a few floors there are stunning buildings, rooms with paintings, furniture, vases all with historical interest. The most stunning Cathedral is also there at the centre of the building...More

Tried to get into this place twice. First time we were late getting there and were told to "come back tomorrow". We did after checking on Trip Advisor to confirm it was open. You can imagine our surprise to find that it was not open...More

Be warned, this place is probably THE highlight of Palermo so expect to queue and don't expect to be alone while you ogle (not the right word but ordinary 'looking' is just not what you will do) the sumptuous sights on display. Every piece of...More
