Busy shopping street
May 2021
This is a busy shopping street in the heart of the old city. We were on parts of it several times as we worked our way from attraction to attraction. One surprise was the Palazzo delle Poste - a modern build which seemed out of place with all of the historical building surrounding it.

Main Street
Oct 2018 • Friends
This main road connects many of Palermo’s main sites, such as the Grand Theatre and the main train station. It’s got lots of shops, and you can also pick up the airport bus from here.

Very nice hotel
Jun 2017
Very nice hotel, quite traditional but not chintzy, rooms great size and quality. No restaurant in the hotel but plenty of places nearby to eat and drink. Located in a handy spot to access the sights of Palermo, would definitely stop here again. friendly staff added to the experience.

All roads lead to Rome☺

Via Roma is a significant Palermo street representing one of the main axes of the historic center. It connects Palermo Centrale Railway Station to Teatro Politeama, and several important buildings appear along this street. It was designed in the 1885 Master Plan and construction began in 1894. This major street is not pedestrian friendly, but I found many attractions along the way.

Straight and wide street
Jul 2017 • Couples
Sometimes it's not so easy to find a wide and straight street in Palermo, but with this street it's not the case. Quite modern-looking. Some nice shops can be found along its way.

Shopping
Jul 2017 • Couples
It is the main shopping street in Palermo. There is a lot of different shops here. However there is a challenge to eat something here around siesta time.

Big street, lot of Cafes, but dont expect glamorous shopping
Aug 2016 • Family
Its one of the big and known streets in Palermo. It is saied to be a shooping and glamorous street. But to be honest I cant see that. Sure, there are shops, some restaurants and cafes, but its absolutely mixed and not glamorous at all. If you plan to visit the street and walk along, you ll be disappointed. You ll not find the special character like in other bigger cities (like Rom, Paris, Barcelone etc.)

Main Drag

Probably can't help but traverse this road if you are in Palermo, with its mix of shops and restaurants and the assault of cars and motorbikes and pedestrians...it's rather daunting to cross the street, but that's not unique to this street, where who blinks first seems to be the rule. Take care.

Via Roma is the Main Street in Catania and we chose to stay on it at the Una Palace Hotel.
It is a road with many shops and restaurants but it also has the most magnificent views of Mount Etna.
A lovely place to promenade up and down and get a feel for Catania.

This is a long street crossing the city from east to west. It is a mixture of classic and modern buildings having many shops along.
