During the day the place is quite deserted and there sin't much to see. It gets better at night as you can order food and sit down enjoying a beer. Sometimes they play music too.

We wandered through and found a good place to eat. By the side of the main walkthrough we sat and enjoyed fantastic seafood pasta.

These markets were touted to be just great and a must see. We made it there mid morning on a warm and sunny day and found not a lot. The locals were out and about but that was about it. The streets are narrow and...More

Locals have told us that this market used to be a major one, but these days - at least, during the day - it seemed to be little more than half a dozen stalls. Disappointing - better to go to Ballaro or Capo

The Vucciria is one of the backbone markets of Palermo. It's a little smaller than Capo and Ballaro but maybe the oldest? It has the famous Spleen Sandwich guy & Taverna Azzurra so what's not to like! Full of characters so go check it out!

We have visited Balaro market a few years ago, in a daylight, full of people and colours, and we thought it's the best local happening we've seen. This year on our first night out we bumped into that crazy Vucciria market. And wow!!! This is...More

Perhaps years ago this may have been a bustling market used by local people to decide what they will be eating that day. We walked through and saw a handful of sellers (half of which barely spoke Italian anyway) and it felt like a bit...More

... look around this market you ll see free fish, fruits / vegetables and other food. A lot of small booths where you can buy and eat small local specialities. Dont drive by car, you ll never get out again :-)
