Charming ruined castle along the coast from Catania. Built in the Roman time out of the lava stacks.

Aci Castello is very close to Catania and something that you must see. If you travel by car could be combined with Aci Trezza, Acireale and Taormina, located more north.

we passed through the village on the coast and stopped at the Castle. Very dark and mysterious and very indicative of the history of this area.

Stumbled on it after accidentally taking a wrong turn. Its a small norman castle on a lava promontory. Very nice to explore but a little plain to look at.
