I absolutely loved touring Mount Etna. I went in October, so the leaves were turning and the combination of the volcanic ash and the eye-popping orange leaves were beautiful and unique-- I've never seen anything like it. PLEASE visit this beautiful natural wonder!

This mountain rises to a peak of 3300 metres and is stunning to view, it has snow on the top in early November when Catania is still 20 degrees. Truly beautiful, nature at its best. NOT to be missed.

Due to time restraint I only saw Etna from a distance. It looks grand and dominates the area. Looked stunning ad sun was going down when on drive from Taormina.

Going to Etna vulcan has been a fantastic excursion. The landscape is amazing and the contrast of black hearth with autumn colours is very pitturesque.

What else can I add to this? Must go if you are in Sicily. Whether you just visit the area around the cable car station, take the cable car or hike all the way up, the views are fantastic. The only I'd add here that...More

As we were with a small kid we've got just to the point where (a bit pricey) cable car leaves for the very top of a volcano. Even so, the views and atmosphere were breathtaking - all those different shades and shapes of black, brown,...More

Traveled by bus to top of volcano on a foggy day. Even with fog we could walk to the edge of the volcano. Wonderful experience, no fear even with a little steam coming from the crater

We drove up to the cable car station at Etna south, therefore, sorry I can not make any suggestions. However, I read the answers of other travelers for the last 12 hours which provide sufficient guidance by tour or bus.

You can still see the old lava flows coming down Etna. You can also see the large crater and walk up on top. Very cool!!
