This is a simple church with a Romanesque façade. This interior is also rather simple and dark, as you would expect for the period it dates from. It seems to be a popular wedding venue.

A beautiful Romanesque church. Beautiful blind arcading on the outside walls. On the inside a not so typical 12th century church, as it has three naves. There are wonderful Norman columns and capitals with human and rams heads. What is unique is that it is...More

The location of the church at the square is nice. A place of rest and silence in a busy city. The church is small, and not much light comes in. Hardly any sculpture or painting inside. The altar is nice. The building itself is massive...More

We stopped here to have a look inside. From the bright sunshine outside and entering the church it seemed very dark. Once your eyes readjusted you are surprised how nice it is. The pillars are very individual and ornate. Make sure you read the information...More

I visited at the time of the saint's festival in May. There was an extensive street market adjacent to the church, local children were giving guided tours of the church interior, and there was a fair close by. A great atmosphere and a little gem...More

We knew there was a five day festival in Olbia at this time and it was a surprise to learn of a such a concert in this tiny plain church. This was a very local but well attended event and it was such a pleasure...More

Lovely church in Olbia that strikes with its simplicity hence the name of San Simplicio. Stunning architecture with features I've never seen before! Free to visit!
