Saw it form below at a distance, and the wandering round accidently found it up the hill. A small elephant, but worth a photo.

The tower is closed for repairs and shrouded on one side with plastic and scaffolding. It is worth seeing from the outside, but it was disappointing not to be able to access the views from the top.

What a shame that the building was being repaired and that one side therefore was covered in scaffolding.

A bit of a climb but it’s worth it for the views. We were lucky it was a beautifully clear day, Cagliari lay before us like a large scale model. Well worth a visit.

The tower is closed for renovation now. It is only one of two Pisan towers still standing. It was built in 1307 as a defense against the Aragonese. It is named after the sculpted elephant located on the exterior of the tower which is quite...More

You could miss the elephant statue if you aren't looking carefully. We had a guide to point it out. Impressive tower in old city.

This tower was being renovated while we were there. Hence we could not enter but it is in a nice part of the old town and you are still able to see it from the ground.
