    Cagliari’s best one
This is our home beach, changes shape and color frequently but water has been consistent around 15 degrees. It’s all still vacant and without umbrella / long chair charges. Surprisingly cleaned water without any rubbish !!

Great beach by bus just make sure you get ticket in advance.
Bus PF and PQ takes you here for €1.30. Buses are approx every 10 mins. The beach itself is about 20 mins by bus from the port and a very beautiful beach with 2 sun loungers and umbrellas for €18 half day. Bring your own snacks and drinks as there is not much there. Beware of a ticket scam on the bus where the driver doesn’t take your fare. Buy your ticket in advance from a newspaper shop. If Driver says “no ticket” do not board the bus. Ensure you validate your ticket in the machine at the back of the bus. The beach buses are monitored by inspectors consistently for people without a ticket. €53 fine!

    Just OK
Spent the day here from the cruise ship. Took bus PF from downtown for around a euro. Got off at the first beach stop and rented two chairs and an umbrella for 20 euros. It is a nice sandy beach with pretty good water clarity, but they pack the people on the beach like sardines with little space to walk. It’s all beach resorts as far as I walked. We left around 2 and walked through town.

Nice beach but could get windy!
We enjoyed the beach even if it was windy. Sardinia could get really windy. And no mountains to shield you from the wind (unlike Mykonos) so it might be a deal breaker at times. The water is clear but cold even in early July. There wasn’t also a lot of people during this period.

Spectacular coastline a few km from the center of Cagliari. Excellently served by the OF and PQ buses which pass every 15 minutes both for the outward and return journey at 1.30 euros each way. Kilometers of fine sandy beach and crystal clear sea without any type of waste or algae or anything else. A true paradise of tranquility. Served by bathing establishments and free beach areas. Without a doubt, for the comfort and splendid sea you deserve the 5 stars. The bans on smoking, consuming food and drinks on the beach, which are permitted in special areas, ensure that the beauty and truly impeccable cleanliness remain even for those who come later. .COMPLIMENTS....

Beautiful city beach, even by bus easy to reach from various parts of the city. I like to go swimming in the morning, the water is a bit cooler and cleaner. The wind changes here, on this island, (which is about the same size as the Netherlands) all day, in the afternoon high surf lessons are also given. Little wind this morning, cool, clear water, white sandy beach. There are many tourists from all over the world. We tourists are also too many, that requires modesty. At the weekend the whole of Cagliari goes to the beach, fortunately, yesterday it was 38 gr in the city. We are guests as tourists, like every major city more than 100 nationalities. I didn't experience any unkindness. One just moves a little bit.
The boulevard is new, free bike path. One direction traffic for cars, if you search carefully free parking. Our bike rental company CarBustec.com gave advice east of Gagliari outside the city: Porto sa Ruxi and Punta is Molentis. Also beautiful. South of the city of Tuerredda. It also remains a personal preference.
We love Sardinia!

Buses PQ and PF will take you from Piazza Matteotti to Poetto Beach. The picture tells you everything. You will know when you arrive as nearly everyone piles off at the Poetto 's first stop as this is near the headland and the marina / facilities. If you want a little more privacy stay on board as Poetto beach is enormous and there are many request stop. If you stay on for a while you will see the red flamingos in the wetlands on your right.

We are staying here for a week and love this huge huge beach. Very easy to find and lots of nearby parking.
Endless places to get a snack and drink but would recommend you look up the better ones if you actually want a lunch or dinner.
The water is pretty shallow so nice for swimming.
Along side the beach is a brilliant running and cycle lanes.

Walk the beach and I must say its is not great. Sure it is long but the buildings along side are old and some are even abandoned. All the courts with large net around its, make is it an eye sore. The water is nice. I guess not bad for a city beach, They would need to clean up to improve the experience

Valid and beautiful city with many interesting places, including this beach, the only important flaw is the character and ignorance, jealousy of certain people who frequent it. Even speaking with local people it would seem that certain people from Cagliari appear to be extremely crude and closed people... So be careful who you meet... It can totally change everything.

We visited Poetto on two separate occasions. It's easy to get to from Cagliari city centre on buses PQ and PF.
The part nearest the marina end was the most attractive for me with its rugged towering cliff face.
However we also visited the end closest to the nature reserve with the flamingos.
At this end there are lots of little food stalls selling hot fast food and drinks on the road near to the large children's play park so you don't have to pay the more expensive prices of the beach front cafes and bars.

The sand was warm - and the beach just went on for miles. Gets busy on the weekends - especially if weather is nice. There was a fair amount of sea grass washed up. Not too many shells - but also no garbage or glass!!
