The immediate environs are busy and steeped in ancient character, looking rather like buildings have been stacked upon one another. Fascinating area of the Old City.

Located near the Giardini Pubblici (public gardens). It's a 14th-century tower, remaining part of Porta a Terra, one of the two main gates into the medieval Alghero. 23 metres high, it has a panoramic terrace - however we were too late to get in.

Beautiful aragonese tower just in the center of city. It is still in good condition and is one of the most important tower in Alghero.

I walked around the old port area. I started on my bicycle but the streets are very rough cobblestones and it just is easier to walk, particularly if you have rather narrow tires. It is a pleasant old town but not particularly spectacular.

One of the ancient towers of the old fortifications of the city. You can climb up thi sone (for free), which is a bit of a climb, but the views on top are worth it!

The old city of Alghero and the walls has special atmosphere and offers great strolls with a nice breeze from the sea. Especially with the amazing sunset with Capo Caccia. There a many restaurants to have drink of meals.

Hi, the problem with this website is that plenty of photos posted to this attraction are taken all around Old Town. The fact is that this particular tower lies in the corner of Via Roma. You go uphill along that street and... More
