This is an ongoing residential area, with a few restaurants, kids in the streets, narrow passageways, and of course various churches. Close to the harbor and restaurants.

We spent the first day of our holiday travelling around the south of Italy in the old part of Bari, starting with the small blue fishing boats in the harbour and working our way around the small winding streets with the occasional stop for a...More

The old town of Bari is similar to all the similar historical centers of southern Italy. Narrow streets, allowing to hide in the shadow of the unmerciful southern sun, hung across the streets of linen. Just like in the Italian films of the neo-realist era....More

Quite diverting for an hour or two. It was very busy though with lots of tour groups and the souvenir shops spilled out onto the streets.

Old town in Bari, an world almost lost in big cities. No asphalt, just stone. No big cars, just scooter and very small (Italian) cars. People are very friendly, food is tasteful. The see is just few minutes from any location. Buildings are simply beautiful....More

We were part of life just staying here and exploring the area. It seems full of characters, but all were wonderful. Everyone smokes.

This is an extremely charming part of Bari. It is referred to as the "old city", and with no cars allowed, one is free to walk around the streets and alleys and not worry about traffic. It is a residential neighborhood where you see clothes...More

All the things you fantasize about, but easily accessible from the Bari international airport. We considered giving up the rest of our trip and just staying here, though curiosity prevailed. If your plane arrives late and you’re tired, don’t hesitate to stay in a charming...More

Perhaps we were only very lucky because in spite of all the warnings given about the possibility of minor crime in the narrow backstreets of historic Bari we wandered around enjoying the ambiance and taking photos in comlpete peace.
