The archaeological museum with its large collection of Roman artifacts, is built into the hillside overlooking the Roman theater. The building used to house a monastery, and one can still see visible remnants, such as a gorgeous cloister.

We stumbled on this while visiting the Teatro Romano. I wish we had more time to spend here - it was a small but very interesting collection and helped me understand about the Verona area in the roman era. A bit of a hidden gem.

The alterations to the museum, many of which were concerned with ensuring its safety in case of an earthquake ( ironically, I write this a week after the tragedy of Pescara di Tronto ) started 3 years ago in June 2013 and the museum re-opened...More

as the museum had just re opened they are only charging 1 euro so can't go wrong with that price. the amphi-theater isn't much to see but the small museum has some nice artifacts. the views from the top are fantastic overlooking river and verona.
