Such a beautiful place. Even better when there is a service is going on. They are happy for you to be there. Just be respectful. Also staff were really amazing and helpful. Even directing me to their toilet, which can be hard to find in...More

While the imposing size of this church looms over the Campo de Gesuiti, the rather inornate exterior belies the splendour that is the inside of this magnificent church. Definitely worth the 1 euro entrance fee. A very worthwhile stop on the walk to or from...More

Baroque wallpaper? No it’s inlaid stone. Just look at the pulpit. No that curtain is stone. The altar carpet is stone work too. Hidden away on the north shore this deserves to be better known The real reason to come however is Titian’s masterpiece ‘...More

Stunning inside, this church was as far as I saw, quite unique in design to other churches in Venice, mainly because of the gorgeous green marble which transformed the interior of the church. As is to be expected it is filled with beautiful artworks (especially...More

This church is so beautiful, tucked away near Fundamente Nuove. It has a pulpit that is beautifully decorated in what looks like damask drapes but is actually made of marble. The entrance fee was only one euro each and was well worth it. The statues...More

The altar is beautiful and is a must see when in Venice. The building is nice but not remarkable from the outside. Once you get inside has a stunning altar and ceiling.

This interior is a pattern on pattern on pattern with no visual rest. So you close your eyes to pray that it all goes away and when you open them again, nothing has changed. Grand examples of what the Baroque could do when pressed into...More

Well worth a visit, with a magnificent marble alter. A bit off the beaten track but worth the time it takes to find it.

Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying

for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

I am not sure about Sunday. You would need to check at the door of the church. Weekdays in the winter it was open in the mornings from 10-12 noon and in the afternoon from 2 pm until 5:30 pm.
