Best value for masques in Venice
Jul 2014 • Solo
A tiny shop right next to San Barnaba. Upon hearing that my usual shop for Venetian craft had closed, I did a lot of research and looking around to find beautiful, good quality masques at a decent price. Silvia has it all in quantity and is also very friendly and helpful - she will explain everything you want to know about the fabrication of her masques and is also willing to make bespoke masques if you ask her to (she made some cat shaped ones with my own cats' colours, after a picture!). She can also teach you how to paint your own masque. Other masques shops around sell at a much higher price under the excuse that they provided some items for Kubrick's or others' movies, but Silvia will give you beautiful, traditional, artistic pieces for under 100 euros.

Great Venetian Shop
Aug 2013 • Family
I had stumbled across this lovely shop walking around Venice on one of my visits to Italy. What a great little gem this place is. They have some really beautiful authentic Venetian masks and at really good prices too. The owner (Silvia) is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I was never made to feel like "just another tourist that isn't going to buy anything" nor did I get the "don't touch or photograph anything" look like I had at some other shops. You can tell that there is pride and passion not just in their works but also in the way they treat their customers. If you are in Venice and want to pick up a really nice authentic Venetian mask, stop by this place. You won't regret it. I am still enjoying my majestic lion's head mask that I bought from them. Great place, great products and wonderful service!

Really friendly place to shop
Jan 2013 • Solo
I stumbled across this shop after doing online research and deciding to go to the shop that made the masks for the movie eyes wide shut. When I arrived at the other shop they were closed for 3 weeks so walked across the bridge and came across this shop. They were so friendly when I entered their were two ladies and a man all working on making masks and one of the ladies started speaking with me. I told her that I was not buying a mask and just wanted to have a look (I was planning to but did not want to feel pressured) she was fine and asked if I would like to know about the history and different masks anyway with no pressure to buy. She very kindly told me all about the masks and what the different types were worn for. I asked them if I could take a photo of the masks on the walls (so many of the shops had signs forbidding it) and they were happy for me to take a photo. I had pre-selected what type of mask I wanted on the previous shops website and had seen how much it was so I then spoke with them about purchasing a very similar mask and the price was about 25 euros cheaper when I mentioned this they advised the other shop could charge more due to the publicity they get from Eyes wide shut and that is also why they can shut for 3 weeks in the winter. I came away from the shop with a mask, a history lesson and 25 euros richer so I would strongly recommend supporting this smaller business you will not be dissappointed.
