I loved this chuch, its a very distinct building in venice since its not connected to any other building and its internal design is very different. The chuch was built from brick and than marble blocks were installed on bricks however they had to be...More

The builders of this church collected an amazing series different marble for exterior and interior. A must seen for architecture lovers.

This church is a real gem, marble all over the place and not ''improved'' over the years, well worth a look.

Just walking by, saw the church doors and went in...admission charge for the opportunity to see, as in many of the churches, great works of art and architecture. Bought a ticket that was good for three days to see a number of the churches. Seeing...More

I just spent 20 minutes doing a detour to revisit this lovely little church – it’s been more than 10 years since the last time, and I wasn’t disappointed. Half the fun of Venice is strolling aimlessly through the narrow streets and then suddenly coming...More

Walking around Venice with such Venice-lover as Federico was a real blessing. A great guide and campanion sharing not only knowledge but fun. Federico satisfy even most historically curious and intellectual person. Highest respect, gratitude and recommendation.

A truly stunning church among many in Venice. Beautiful marble adorns this small single nave church. Buy a chorus pass and enjoy entrance into approx 18 churches around Venice.

Santa Maria dei Miracoli is a wonderful marble marqueterie, both outside and iside. To be visited repeatedly, in order to enjoy the differant shades according to the hour in the day.

We hadn’t been to the sesteri Cannaregio and our walk to this church led us there! One doesn’t need a lot of timer, but the marble inside and out is very impressive. We learned there is a pass that gets you into 11 churches for...More

Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

Its quite a trek best to take a water taxi to the Rialto Bridge ask which way there and its about 15 minutes . It is down alleys so need to check if you are heading the right way. Well worth it though

Probably Rialto or Fondamente Nuove as good as any - it's about halfway between. But the easiest way to find it is from the Church of Ss Giovanni e Paolo; from the square in front of it, a bridge leads across the canal to... More
